We will be at WDW this weekend for our first time. The only showing of Spectromagic during our stay is Saturday evening at 7:15 pm. Is it worth making plans around being there to see it? How long does it last? Is there any possibility of watching the parade and then leaving for the Poly or some other vantage point outside of MK to watch 8:00 pm fireworks?

Thanks for the suggestions!

I think it is definitely worth watching. I liked it much better than the regular MK parade. We watched it from the Adventureland area and then just waited around for the fireworks. Then even though the park "closed" at 8:00 we hung around in the stores until 9:00 and the crowds had lessened.

I have heard that you can watch the parade at the beginning of the route by Main Street Station and then leave right away and make it to a resort in time to watch the fireworks.

I agree that Spectromagic is really worth planning to see. Especially for a first-time WDW visitor! It's a "must see" for me every time I'm down there.

If Spectromagic starts at 7:15, you'd have to stake out a viewing place pretty close to the MK exit if you wanted to try to make it to the Poly to watch fireworks. Even then it could be tricky to get there in time unless you get right on the monorail with no wait. JMHO.

I've had good luck watching Spectro on Main Street near the Castle or near the Main Street Bakery. Right after it's over, we go immediately to the tables near the Plaza Pavilion. That's a great viewing place for the fireworks. We try to sit right under the wire that Tinkerbelle comes down. Then we leave after the fireworks, or sometimes we stay to shop a little.

Be aware that people begin saving curb space up to 90 min. ahead of time to get a spot they really want. On our last trip, we chose a great spot about an hour ahead. Then I saved it while my sister went and got carryout dinner for us. We had a great time eating and people watching to pass the time until Spectro.

Have a wonderful trip and savor everything you can! :D

I always plan my vacation around when Spectromagic is playing......it is a must see for my family and I definitely get excited for people like you who have never experienced it.......DO IT!! You won't regret it. It is the epitomy of the true "disney" experience!

ENJOY!!!

In my opinion, Spectromagic is THE BEST parade there is to see at WDW.
Definately DO NOT miss it!!
