My whole family is reading these posts with me and we have been sitting here trying to put into words the gratitude we feel. It simply would be impossible! This is the most touching thing that has happened to our family. Infact I told my DH that throughout the years with Nathan, there have been lots of let downs and disappointments, but this more than makes up for all of that.
Listen though, please do not do the donation. We are getting our trip through Wishing Well Foundation and that is more than enough. It simply wouldn't be right for you all to donate money with the purpose of upgrading our already wonderful room. We will have the vacation of a life time in our assigned rooms. Besides, it doesn't sound like you spend much time in the rooms anyway! And then there is always the chance that we wont even remember where our rooms are because we have eaten ourselves stupid!
I wanted to explain alittle bit about Nathan's condition though because some people have asked. He has a very rare genetic disorder called Rhizomelic Chondrodysplasia Punctata. (this is a mutation of the Pex 7 gene) There have been less than 75 kids in the whole world to ever be diagnosed with RCP. And as you can tell from the picture, RCP prevents Nate from being able to grow. It also affects every bone and joint in his body. So, he may not be able to move very much, but he sure can laugh and smile! God giving Nathan to us has been a true blessing and we are very grateful to have him. I just want to make sure I have not made it sound like some sob story, because it's not. I know some of you on here have or have had the privilege of caring for an extra special child, so I know you know what I'm talking about.
By the way, Disney knows this is a wish trip for Nate and have done some extra things for him (i.e. refrigerator in our room, crib) I know they will do everything they can for him.
Now, not to sound like a brag, but aren't my boys the most handsome you have ever seen??
