Special room cleaning??

I remember a while back reading about someone requesting special room cleaning through special services-- for severe allergies,asthma, etc. My DD2 is allergic to everything and residule sunblock on things, baby powder, perfume, etc might be a problem. Has anyone had experience with this?

We are having a special cleaning for our room at the CR in May. When I called (last June) to make our original reservations I had a wonderful CM. I told him I needed a non-smoking room because my daughter has allergies and asthma. He said no problem that he would note our room with a designated "special need" so the room assigners would note our nonsmoking request was for medical reasons(which means its a MUST not a WANT) and he said that he also added a designation for "special cleaning" so they would not use harsh smelling chemicals and to make sure all our linens were specially cleaned.

What does this mean I am guessing it means they will use unscented cleaning products, do an extra thorough vacuuming, and give us freshly laundered linens including the bedspreads(as we all know they only change bedspreads for scheduled cleanings or "need to" basis --ex. someone spilled soda on bed).

I will be there the first week of May and I plan to give a report on how it went with our special needs daughter so until then.....Maybe someone else has already been there and had a "special cleaning" to know what it really means. I would suggest reposting this question on the resorts board because it is alot more active.

We requested a special cleaning of our room last year due to allergies. I really am not sure what was different in terms of the actual cleaning, if anything. Our request for a fridge for medical reasons was not noted, so I didn't trust that the linens had been changed. I requested housekeeping come with a complete change of bedding, including bedspreads and they did so with no problems. That took care of my real concerns, as my son is very allergic to dust mites, and I knew the bedspreads might not have been changed in a while.
