Someone on another thread got me thinking:

We're going to WDW in August. My husband works part time in a photographer's studio, so I KNOW he'll need to come up with some special poses to try out.

But we haven't been to WDW since 1990-- I'm not sure what to expect.

Is there a place with info that he'll want to see?

A posed shot that just screams DISNEY or something. I'm not sure exactly what I'm after, just something that would make a photographer stop and say "Nice shot!!"

He has several books on poses for weddings, for example-- how to set up the group and where to put the hands I imagine.

So more ideas like lining up the subject so the MGM hat is sitting on their head?

You could do the classic "ta-dah" pose that Mickey does. You know the one with his hand out saying, "give me more money"

I think you're looking more for overall shot ideas and not just poses. When I read poses, I think that you want your subject to stand in a particular way or put their hands in a particular place.

The simplest recommendation for getting classic "Disney" shots is to use the map. The park maps have, I think, indicators of "photo spots." These are places you can stand and take a picture that some Disney pro has determined to be a good place to take a picture from.

If you want to spend more time on it, look through the innumerable picture threads here and find ideas that you like. Write them down and use them yourself. Just be sure that you understand what your camera is capable of. It won't help to fall in love with one of Groucho's fisheye shots and try to recreate it with a disposable camera.

I think we had a thread a while back on some classic shots, but I doubt that I could find it. There are the classic, iconic shots - Cinderella's Castle, Mickey's Hat, the Tree of Life, and Spaceship Earth. Everyone likes fireworks shots at Wishes or Illuminations. Characters are another classic. And I don't know of anyone that has ever gone there with a kid in a stroller that doesn't have a shot of the aforementioned kid asleep in that stroller.
