How often do they update the special offers on the Disney web page? I am hoping for free dining for our Oct stay and it ends the 29th of Sept and we can't check in until after the 30th.

There is no set schedule. Sometimes they add new offers just before or just after the current ones pass their "book by" date. But if their occupancy looks good, they may wait a while before they offer anything, or there may be no offers at all. If their occupancy is particularly bad, they might release offers early, or extend current offers to cover later dates. The offers used to be more predictable, but the past year or so, they've been changing things up a bit more.

You have a couple choices: go ahead and book where and when you want and change it when an offer is released, or wait until the offer is released and hope it doesn't sell out before you get booked. Personally, I never book a vacation I can't afford, needing a discount to come out to make it affordable. If something comes out after I book, then it's just gravy, and if it doesn't, I can still go.

Ditto for me. I book my annual trip when I return. I pay half at time of booking and pay the other half in February when I receive my tax return.

If I get a discount, all the better. If not, I am still going and it is still paid for.

I learned last year, when I took the discount at another resort and I was unhappy with the change - I wish I had stayed at my original resort, which had already been paid for. I learned not to do that again. If I can get a discount at my home resort, I am pleased - like I did this year - if not, I am staying where I want to stay and I am more than happy to be going anyway - no matter how much I paid.

It's not a question of updating the page; it's a question of releasing new offers. This is the first year that they've announced free dining so far into the future. It is unlikely that another promotion for free dining will be released until the booking window for this one closes. Other promotions, such as room only discounts, haven't been announced for January yet, never mind October.

They have room only discounts out through February 2011. I am going to AKL in Jan and got 25% off my room. Maybe I am misunderstanding your post??

OOPS! I mis-posted. Anyway, the room only discounts aren't out as far as September though. Didn't mean to scare you!

It used to be that discounts weren't posted until the current offers "book by" date had been reached. This year Disney through all that out the window and started posting offers all over the place. We booked Free Dining for August 2011 before we even left for our August 2010 trip.

As for October 2011, I suspect there will be something, but your guess is as good as mine when it will be posted.

I know the current offer expires Nov 21. I think there will be a new offer then, but I would be surprised if it went all the way to October.

I am also waiting to see what comes out in October, but I have already booked a package that I know I can afford. If a deal comes out, then that is awesome for me, but I am not counting on it to happen. I am going one way or the other.

It's all good! I wish they would hurry up and post new room only discounts or heck even a stay 4 days get 3 free! Ethier way I am really counting on a room discount for our hopeful trip in Sept 2011. Mainly b/c things are super tight for my parents and if they don't come out with one than we won't beable to go.

Hopefully they won't wait until the FD expires to come out with a new one. I mean as of right now they have 3 different offers out. But you can never tell with Disney!!

I'm with you! I'm keeping my fingers crossed they come out with a new one Nov 22!!!! I am also a little doutful the offer will be through Oct 2011. But you never know!!!
