Special occasion but picky eater- HELP :/

My sister used to make us a salad that had mayo as the base dressing. I make one for my DH that has seasoned mayo. His family is Lithuanian and always had sour cream based dressings but he hates that, so we sub mayonnaise. It's delicious when I'm done.
As a base is one thing. But I can't imagine just eating plain mayo on lettuce.

That's definitely a new one for me.

My sister always did. Every night for dinner she made a chopped lettuce salad mixed with mayo for us. For a long time, this was the salad. Honestly, it was good.

This makes my heart smile. My daughter is on the spectrum and has SPD, and it was fine requesting things for her because she's a kid. I feel like it's not as "acceptable" (in the eyes of strangers who don't get it) to be food/texture avoidant as an adult, and didn't want to embarrass myself in asking. I'm feeling much better about it now. Thank you all.
Aw, Disney is a safe place. Some places don't even want to accommodate kids without judgement (and you see it on these boards sometimes - if your child is picky it is surely a parenting fail). I am a single mom and took my son to disney alone for the first time in 2014 and it was the best trip of my life (and I'd been there a ton pre-kids). He had pizza made for him with no sauce and was thrilled. CA Grill is on his "must do" on our upcoming trip! Here he is so happy he got his pizza with no sauce. How can you not want to go to CA Grill now? lol. A friend of mine is also super picky (as an adult) and has never felt judged or had a hard time anywhere at Disney. To me that is one of the best things about it - families with different tastes can all enjoy themselves pretty much everywhere.... well, except maybe a vegan at the steakhouse. that might be a bit too far even for disney!

Sounds like the potato chip sandwich I used to take to school for lunch many years ago. Potato chips between two slices of bread. That was all.

Literally all the signatures have some type of steak-and-potato options, just ask your server and they can definitely help. As far as a window table at California Grill, we eat there on almost every trip and usually time our dinners to the fireworks and we've only gotten a window table maybe once out of every three meals there.

But the good news is there are two huge balconies outside the restaurant that give you an even better view of the fireworks than at the tables. The music is piped in and there's usually a lovely breeze. Enjoy!

I am surprised it hasn't been said yet, but everything on the California Grill menu sounds fancier than it really is!
