I have never been on the Magic so I have not done a "formal" night. How formal do we get? I am more concerned about my 2 boys-13 and 11. I am not bringing a suit for them! They won't want to wear "shoes" other than sneakers or flip flops-what it the protocol?

I will also be leaving on a jet plane 3wks from tomorrow-going to mom's in West Palm Bch then up to WDW for a couple of days then onto the cruise!!

Only 9 days until we head west to start this fun trip with the Segway adventure in CA. :cool1 Can you tell we're excited?

Of course there is about 3 weeks worth of work for both Dale and I sitting on our respective desk that just absolutely has to be finished before we leave, including a bunch of night meetings, now I remember why we usually don't take days off this time of year. When to find time to pack??

Can't wait for that funky ship's horn to sound to know the much need vacation has begun.

Docs were delivered to TA at 11:15 am today, why didn't they call. Will have to call them tomorrow and swing by and pick them up, don't they understand how important the physical connection is??

Segways are way cool. I wish I had one. Did a Segway tour of Santa Barbara - that was fun. Did the Epcot tour as well. Looking forward to the off road tour at WDW next year in August before the Wonders 10th Anniversary cruise.

Gordy has it easy - he gets to pack light.

We did the outdoor one at Ft Wilderness. It was the BEST.. and the Segways were easier to control than the older versions we went on a few years back.

If anyone loves Segways, I'd HIGHLY recommend taking this Segway tour!

I don't want to miss Lumiers and was thinking dockers type pants with a button down shirt and a pair of docksiders for shoes. Maybe a tie.
I know I won't be getting a formal picture taken. Maybe I'll wear the lanyard instead of the tie that way they will know the DIS folks decided on our on attire.

Would they let you in with a pair of belted shorts and a Hawaiian shirt?

Except Palo! We had friends turned away for a drink at the bar because they were in shorts.

I kinda think they should not allow shorts, but that puts too much pressure on the staff to turn folks away (which they wouldn't do). People have paid to go on the cruise... and they are on vacation, but I don't think it would be asking too much not to wear shorts in the dining rooms for dinner. Lunch is a different story.

We always enjoyed the dressing up part... you know, old school when you dressed up to go out to dinner at a fancy restaurant, (Cracker Barrel + 5 Guys excluded ) but with the new airline restrictions, and $$$ for luggage, I agree... we will be dressed a bit more casual on Formal night. No jackets for the guys unless they want to.

I can tell from your tagline pic you have a tux on. You do get fancy! But that was probably for a 7 day or longer cruise.

Going to venture a guess it was a 14 night!

I dont like the wearing of shorts to dinner, casual pants is what I will wear atleast.
I bring 2 pairs of pants throw them on for dinner and take them off right after.
