Ah Lanyards, they can be a double-edged sword.:lmao:
(I appologize to those that have heard this one)

On the first cruise with a lot of these folks we had the lanyards.
Second night out, Lee and I had ours on going to dinner.
As we were getting on the elevator a woman looked at us, put her nose in the air and quite snootily said, "Oh, you are one of those lanyard people" and never said another word.:confused3
I had not even done anything remotely offensive. :sad2:
But after the big sleep over, the jammie breakfast, the great chair robbery, ect. I began to understand what kind of group I was associated with.:scared1:

But I always wear mine with pride.:goodvibes
It will be a good time.

Well, it is time for a Belle walk and then a soak before the heat rolls in.
Later kiddies. :wave2:

I would really love to hear the stories (or read as it were) of the jammie breakfast and the great chair robbery. They sound interesting and it might be good to know what kind of group i've gotten us mixed up with.

ummmm....I plead the 5th.....despite what you may hear or read....just remember.....I'm innocent!!!!!!

Nice pictures!! Love the zoom!!! We haven't been there in a long time either.

Disneypindiva, have you tried the friday night fish at Cracker Barrel. I am not much of a fish lover - still learning - and I love that fish. It is different than the fish they do the rest of the week. Never have done a Johnny Rockets. I'll add that to my list!

Have you guys had any problems taking alcohol on board? I have never tried. Actually never thought about it until I heard the word rum!! I know they won't let you open what you purchase duty free on board. Just put it in your carry on or what?

Yes, you can take it onboard. You can purchase on at Nassau too and bring it onboard, just not when you buy on the ship. Just bring it in your carry on.

Hey Georgie or anyone else,
we went to Cracker Barrel the other night.
They had Halloween stuff out.:scared1:
but that is not the worse.......
there was Christmas stuff too.:sad2:

What gives?!? It is still summer!

BTW, the dinner was great. Love the place for dinner.

Have a great week you'all.

oh Bob...just rub it in...that you were at Cracker Barrel...AGAIN!!!! :lmao: I get my fix in 19 days!!!!!!

I can't believe that they have both Halloween AND Christmas stuff out...that is just wrong.....

Yes, the Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas stuff was out here too. The Halloween and Thanksgiving were all out 2 weeks ago when I was there and the Christmas stuff went out August 1. I asked one of the clerks and she said last year they waited until September for the Christmas stuff, but the protocol this year puts it out August 1 because the economy is so bad and their Christmas stuff sells the best. ... so they are giving us 5 months to buy it!!! I don't even want to think about buying Halloween stuff yet, let alone Christmas!!! :scared1: The little dog statue dressed like a ghost was really cute though..:rotfl:Wish we had room to store that kind of stuff the other 11 months of the year!

We did do the Friday Fish fry last Friday... well, Joe had it, I had a BLT. I ate some of his fish though and it was pretty good. Maybe I'll try it this Friday...
;) Johnny Rockets is good, but quite a drive for us just for burgers, we've got a 5Guys Burgers & Fries right across from the Cracker Barrel.... so that's where we usually go for the grease fest.

Thanks, Tracy. Collegeman and Princess like their rum and Coke. I prefer the fru fru drinks of the day!!:woohoo:

Put it in your carry on, roll an entire bar suitcase on..... I've never had a problem. ;) Even packed a small suitcase with the bar once, lots of bubble wrap and it made it thru the luggage gorillas okay. Now a lot of stuff comes in the plastic bottles.... well, hard stuff anyway. Wine we usually carry on. Stuff you buy onboard will be held until the last night when they deliver it to your cabin, but if you buy stuff in the ports (everywhere except Grand Cayman :sad2:) you can carry right on and consume. :drinking1:
I never found any bargains in Nassau..usually don't get off the ship there. Even the Nassau Royal was cheaper on the ship. Does anyone have any recommendations for liquor purchases there?? I've found the deals on the ship to be better. Usually the rule of thumb is the farther away from the port you get the better the prices. We're actually going over to Atlantis this time... anything over that direction??

Collegeman and Princess have already told us "we" are buying some rum to bring back.;) I can't tell you about liquor but I can tell you about jewelry! They have a shop that sells Kabana. Would love another piece but have sworn I won't be buying this trip. Sigh. Not even looking.:sad2: I only buy jewelry on our trips and duty free.

Can you carry it on an plane with the liquid restrictions?

I have no idea about the plane, my guess is probably not unless it's those tiny tiny bottles. :lmao: I drive to the port so I don't even think about that. Hmmm.... you might have to drink fru fru drinks of the day until we hit Nassau then. Or stop on the way to the port at a liquor store to tide you over. We go to CC first so you could survive on Konk Koolers for the day! :rotfl:

The names on the FE list are all those Diser’s that has requested to participate. Our count thus far is 112 cabins. I have updated and removed the names "These Diser may be on the cruise" so there’s no confusion. Peter will still have there names on the master list. If you don’t see your name on the FE list and would like to join in the fun ,there is still plenty of time, just PM me. Deadline Aug 21

Virginia

I am the only one in awe of how cool it is that so many people are participating!?!?!? That is very very very cool. Again, thanks Virginia for the hard work in keeping track of the FE list. More shopping must be done (are we seeing a trend in what I love, yet?!?!)

The pictures of Niagra Falls are beautiful. And a happy birthday to Margaret!

Did someone say "konk koolers?!?!?" I could use one after today, and it is only weeks away!

Happy Birthday to all!

I love the pix of Niagara. We were there 2 summers ago. It was awesome. I would love to see it in the winter when it freezes, but that would mean I have to go to Toronto in the winter when it is FREEZING!:goodvibes

I have brought on bottles of wine, champagne and Malibu Rum in the past without a problem. I have also brought on a soft pack cooler on wheels. I do not know what the policy is now, but I think that is not a problem, especially listening to some of the stories of our fellow Dis'ers!

Hi! I've been lurking for a while, it's time to make it official. We will be in staterooms #5129 and #5131. Me (Julie), DH (Alex) and DS x3 ages 8, 4 and 3, will have early dinner.

27 more days!!:yay: :woohoo:  :goodvibes

Hello all

I am cruising on the 5 night and wanted to join in! Does anyone know how to get onto the FE list? Want to sign up! Anyone coming from Atlanta, GA?

Donna

DonnaO and IncredibleboysMom - if you want to participate in the name badges and lanyards, I need the first names of all the people in your groups.

All liquids need to either fit in one small plastic bag and be no more than 3 ounces each for your carry on or in your checked luggage. This makes it a pain with weight and luggage restrictions.

Happy Bday Margaret and Joe!

Elaine - those pics are beautiful!! We drove up to NF a few years ago, and stayed in the Marriott on the Canada side, it was awesome!! We are talking about going back someday with my dd - she will get a kick out of that street (forgot the name) with all the touristy stuff on it..
Oh, and we had gone to the Casino too, and it was the first and only time i have ever WON.. LOL I was thrilled, until i went to cash it to american money, and found out about the rate of exchange.. LOL But, it was still fun to win!

SO excited about how fast this is coming, although i feel it's bittersweet, as it also means the end of summer.. :(

Well, my kidnapping plan worked perfectly yesterday.

Joe + I went to lunch for his birthday. I had left my cell phone charging at home, so I asked him if we could swing by there on our way back to work. Of course, we had to pick up my folks mail and drive it down their lane first... and he had to go in and say Hi, since it was his birthday, and they would want to see him.

I slipped a special poem in an envelope and stuck it in with my folks mail. They saw it right away, and said, Hey Joe... this one's for you. We had our nephew Brandon read it, and Joe quickly put together all of the clues.

We were all going to LBI for the afternoon, complete with miniature golf (his favorite one on the Island), Fantasy Island with games, tokens + tickets, (he won 2 separate jackpots) and then off to dinner for his favorite... Fried Lobster!

It was wonderful just to see him so happy and free from the stresses of work. I was so glad everything worked out. :goodvibes

Thanks to all for the birthday wishes for Joe. :thumbsup2 Elaine, Great picture of the Coke vending machine!!!
