Mom and I are doing some majoring cleaning now of the rooms we didn't re-do...first up is the basement family room where all my scrapbook supplies are :scared1: . I started clearing out my old scrapbook magazines and found an interesting article in one from April 2001 "Converting to a Digital Camera"....most of the cameras they highlighted in the article were 1 - 2.1 MP and had 2 - 3X optical zoom and they retailed for anywhere from $400 - $1000 :scared1: It sure was fun to read the article and see just how much technology has changed over the years!!!!!

I think it will take US 6 and a half months to complete the kitchen remodel, making any monies earned in Canada TAX Free! :lmao:

Please consider that, before we go for the little green apples.. ;)

Lets see a Canada trip for 6 months, I thought it was 330 days outta country, that is what the Iraq contracts run. Then there is a stop in Indiana, and maybe joe and Leslie need a hand in FL.

Makes me think, On another board I was requested in Tahoe. LOL

A co worker is have two very small baths redone, cost 25,000, all was to be done in 4 weeks, that was 7 weeks ago and only one bath is done. I offerred to help him.

You are correct.....Tim found out the hard way after 60-75 day trips over seas and bad info from other contractors. Thankfully we have a good accountant who kindly corrected us.

The tax rules sure are different in the US than they are here.....for us regardless of how long you are in the US, if you maintained "ties" to Canada (i.e maintained a home in Canada, your spouse/family remained in Canada, etc) you are considered to be a factual resident of Canada and are taxed on your "worldwide" income...and just so you know...although your earnings may be tax free in the US, if you are in Canada for 183 days or more....you are "deemed" to be a resident of Canada and have to pay tax to Canada on your earnings.....

So, given where we are on what nights I would assume that the menus for dining will be
rotation
rotation
rotation
pirate
until we meet again.

Is this a safe assumption. I've been reading the scanned menues (I'm a food nut) and I'm just trying to get a feel for what I'll get to choose from.

The last menus I looked at didn't have the ribs at Parrot Cay. I am soooo bummed, that I am not going to look at any other menus and just wait to get on the ship. I don't know what other of my faves are gone now:eek:

We have 2 cabins for DH, DD and me. If we are using one credit card for the payment authorization for both cabins, I just fill it out and print it once, right? I did DH's first, and it has a place for him to authorize me and DD for charges, so I checked that. The other cabin is in my name, but I shouldn't have to fill out a payment authorization for my cabin, should I? Since I am already authorized on his payment authorization??

I don't want to mess this up. Last year's cruise, I filled out the forms online, but didn't print anything, thinking, "Hey, it's all in their computer, that's all they need". I got chastised at the port for not printing out all the forms!

You have forms to fill out for each reservation so you need to print them for each room, even though they are using the same card. Better to be safe than chastised I always say :)

Can't be because the third night is pirate night.

Right, third night is pirate night, fourth night is formal night. :)

I got a pic of my fish extender today. I had no idea how to make one so I asked a crafty mom on my mommy board to make one for me. She did a great job. Now I am really excited!! I had one made for my mom and dad too!

Too cute!! We got ours in the mail yesterday! I ordered them from a Diser on ebay. She did a fantastic job! I felt the same way! I am so excited!!

Barb and I have been keeping up to date and reading the threads and are very jealous that we had to cancel this cruise. We are going to live this vacation through you guys this time so you better make it as good as the first panama cruise :yay:

I also ask for a thoughts or prays as I was afraid (and the reason we canceled) I am now another IT person out of work so any thoughts or prayers would be appreciated.

Bryan

Oh dear, my poor FE sits on the dining room table---half complete---I am having a tough time trying to figure out how to attach the pockets to the backing. Sigh. I am also having a difficult time finding fancy blue shoes to go with my dress I plan on wearing to dinner at Palo. Double sigh.

Great news on the car front though:) Thanks to the people who sent me a PM, we decided on a 2008 Subaru Outback station wagon. Cars sure have changed A LOT since we last purchased a car---in 1994! No more cassette players, EVERYTHING is digital and it ALL takes getting used to! I figure since we are driving to FL we'll have lots of time to read the manual:)

I am really excited that this Magical Cruise is getting ever-so-closer! I brought out our suitcases and I started making lists of things we need to pack:yay:

BRYAN!!! We are so sorry to hear your news. How hard this is! We are taking a salary hit as State workers, (no promotion for me for 7 years and out of title work) but we do have our jobs. Prayers are on the way!:grouphug: Georgie + Joe

Good Luck with the FE and shoes!:goodvibes I am not crafty so I did not even try.:scared1: I bought a really pretty dress the other day that I love. I never wear dresses so I needed one. I will probably be wearing it for Palo and formal night since I do not see wasting $$ on another dress since I never wear them.. I know I am cheap, but I also really like the dress I bought! Now to find shoes. I would like to wear like kitten heeled fancy/ sparkly sandals. Do you guys think that would be OK??

I'm trying to do a FE too, but I doubt I'll have much luck. I'm looking for something cheap that could substitute, but no luck so far. We'll see what happens over the next 6 weeks.

I wanted to say, in case it helps anyone else, we emailed DCL's concierge staff and they got the Palo times we needed for my SIL's room. Well, I don't mean that they were eating separately, but we were adding them to our Palo reservations. I'm so relieved as I did not want to wait in line and hope to get times that coordinated onboard.

Now time to work on the magnets!

I just finished working on the design of my FE gift.. i am so happy with the way it came out... now i gotta do over a 100 more! LOL yikes..

justthat - what about a clear over the door organizer from like the dollar store or something??

My Mom is in the process of making us a fish extender and it did take us a few times of reading through the instructions to figure out exactly how to attach the pockets...even with one we had received on a previous cruise as a sample....maybe we could help you out....what is it you are having difficulty with????

Scott....The Weather is Here, Wish You Were Beautiful:goodvibes

2 + weeks until Buffett, 7 weeks until the cruise.:cool1: :cool1:

Speaking of JB,
Scott or Keet and anyone who has the "Scenes" dvd, a trivia question.

Right before he performs "Pirate Looks at 40", JB works in a famous restaurant.
What is the name of the establishment?
What long running tv program was this place parodied?

Great night here on the deck.
 Wi-Fi.
