I just Booked at $125 plus tax (comes to $140)a night for a Family suite which is a King Bed w/sofa pull out-not that we need the beds! That was direct from choice hotels website. See if you can book at the $125 rate.

I am interested in being one of the people in your room-we are afamily of 5 also-so I booked 1 room, but was thinking of booking 2 so that we can all use the privelages at the Atlantis.

Let me know how you do w/ booking at the cheaper rate.

Nezy - YOU ROCK!!! THANK YOU!! I hadn't even checked the Choice website today. I was able to change the rate on both rooms to $125 and both have a max occupancy of 4 in each room. :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Just read this on the Theme Parks Thread....Disney is closing all the Pleasure Island Clubs effective September 27...

Scott...maybe you can get some "authentic" Adventurers Club stuff!!!!

OH how awful...we love the Adventurers Club ( well jm does..I am always a little nervous in there..God forbid they will single me out.) We will be there Aug 31 after dinner at Wolfgang Puck.I cant imagine why they would close it..any time we were there it was packed !!

I have the Comfort Suites booked directly through the Choice Hotels website and with the Smarter Travel corporate discount code (which I can no longer find available) at a rate of $145/night + taxes and fees. I'm hoping to find a lower rate, but right now this works well for us as it doesn't ask the children's ages (mine are all 12 and older :( ). We did this on our last cruise to Nassau and DH went over alone to check us in so they never asked the ages.

I said all that to say we have 2 rooms booked (since we are a family of 5) and can "share" the second room with 3 other people - is anyone interested?

Happy Saturday everyone! :sunny:

My niece is going with my parents and I would love her to be able to come to Atlantis, so if it works out that you have 1 person left LMK. Thanks!

Is anyone else who booked a GTY room still at GTY?

I just checked again and we are still a party of 4 in a GTY cat 12. I hope they don't forget about us and decide to roll a cot in or have one of us sleep out in the hallway!

My parents ( and niece) are still cat 12 GTY.

Is anyone else who booked a GTY room still at GTY?

I just checked again and we are still a party of 4 in a GTY cat 12. I hope they don't forget about us and decide to roll a cot in or have one of us sleep out in the hallway!

We still have a GTY category 9. They usually assign the GTYs about 20 days out (though some haven't gotten assignments until at the port).

You guys are awesome!! That saved us quite a bit of money! I had found the $125 rate but the additional money for the teens was holding us back. The fees weren't as high there either. I went ahead and booked it figuring we would cancel if we decided against it. I'm sure that will happen!;)

So has anyone done the Comfort Suites thing? We just figured we would grab a taxi both ways. Should we check in and then check out at the same time so we don't have to go back over to the hotel before heading back to the ship?

My confirmation says $280 "estimated" total. What does that mean? And do they ask how old the kids are when you check in? Just curious if it is still possible to get socked with that extra $80 charge. The total I got at the other site was $465 for the 6 of us with the room charges of $125 per night and the extra fees.

Is there anything about seeing Atlantis this way that I need to know?

My family did this in 2006. We did take a taxi each way and it was $4/person (ask before you get in the taxi). The taxi driver let my husband out at the Comfort Suites and then took my children and me to Atlantis next door. My husband doesn't remember if they asked for the children's ages when he checked in or not. He was just amazed at how quickly he was able to get checked in and out. He did go ahead and check out at the same time so we did not have to go back over. It only took him about 10 (maybe 15) minutes to join us at Atlantis.

At Comfort Suites and at Atlantis there are extra charges for "energy surcharge," "housekeeping," and taxes. Although it says the housekeeping is charged for every person 12 years and older, we were only charged for 2. In 2006 the rate that I had booked was $128. The resort added $15.36 in taxes, $8 housekeeping charge, and $12 energy surcharge for a total of $163.36. I'm guessing our "estimated totals" of $140/room only include taxes and not the housekeeping or energy surcharges. My confirmation says children 16 and older will be charged an additional $40. My oldest children are only 14 so that still beats Travelocity or Atlantis (even if they come out with a great TravelZoo rate) because they charge for children 12 and over. :thumbsup2

Don't worry -- we are still cat 6 GTY . . . I will bet we will get cabin assignments around the first of August or so . . .

Hi Everyone!

Scott + Lynn... Hope your race went well. Elaine... happy painting.

Congrats to everyone booking a room to get the benefits of Atlantis! Sounds absolutely FUN!!!

Well, I've dusted off my blinkie flip flop thingies from the PC Westbound... 3 years ago! They still blink. (I remember hearing one woman say... behind my back... they are so childish! But I bet she was secretely wishing she had a pair! :rotfl2: ) I'm planning to use them tonight! I also have to dig out our Hawaiian shirts.

We're going to :beach: Cheeseburger in Paradise :beach: to meet other cruisers from our upcoming September cruise. Even got the JB cd and will be playing "Cheeseburger in Paradise" and "Fins" on the way there.

It's a beautiful HOT SUMMER day here in NJ... but we are dried out... no rain here, yet storms all around us.

Hi everyone  I hope it's not too late to join this thread? This is our 2nd cruise with Disney and we are so excited to do CC twice on this trip. There are just the two of us DH (Ed) and me (Karen) Is this Disney's first 5 night cruise .. just wondered as I see FirstTimers are aboard.

Not sure if it is still available, but we are a family of 5 also looking to book a room at Atlantis. We would like to book one room, so if anyone has room in theirs we'd love to talk to you!
I do have a question though- not to sound really cheapo but my daughter is disabled, and would not benefit much from the slides. Does anyone know if they have a special rate for disabilities?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the info. I'll just hope for the best and prepare for the worst. The charges are what they are! There was $30 in taxes added but I am sure the energy thing and housekeeping aren't on there.

We had to book 2 rooms to get all 5 of us taken care of, hoping someone will have room in a room for one of your party.

I believe the pool area is Hc Compliant, kinda like SSR.

poohluv2u

WHAT!!!! BUMMER, I also hope they do keep the Adventures Club, Yes it would be nice to have some of the stuff, I would love to have the Yakoose. Now that would be KEWL!!!!. Or some of the Masks, etc etc etc ... Will have to have someone I know if FL to keep an eye out.

I would also imagine that Disney feels they cam make more $$$$ is they lease out the club space.

The 10 K went well and temps were very nice. I scored a PR for the 10K cutting over 5 miniutes off my previous 10K. Was very happy with that.

Later kiddies JB Mich concert replay is on and burgers soon to be on the grill.

Did get home to do some work on the basement, the next real Adventures Club.

We are so torn on doing Atlantis....DH and I are not fond of Nassau but we didn't get to do Atlantis last time and I've heard great things about it. However, we are travelling with two small kiddos (ages 4 and 7 months) and I'm not sure this is such a great idea for kids. Plus, getting to Atlantis with 2 small children in the the Bahamas gives me the heebie jeebies!

Has anyone done this with young kiddos or should we wait until they're older. Right now, we're just hanging out on the boat.

Thanks!

I think I read that there is a height requirement to ride the slides. Must be 48 inches tall. The pools are nice but if you can't do the slides, it would be an expensive pool day. That is a tough call.

When we went on our last Disney Cruise, my daughter was 4 and my son was 8 months. We stayed on the boat and scheduled the baby in the nursery for a while so we could enjoy the adult pool for a bit and also had some 1 on 1 time with our daughter. It was nice and peaceful.:goodvibes

How Many new members will we have of the Grass Skirt Frat on this cruise, gotta know how many membership cards to have ready.
