Special 9/1/08 Cruise Continued - Part 3

Hey all.. Here is a Pete update!
He is still feeling terrible, I guess rib fractures are the worst kind of pain ever. They have him on a pain pump that he can press when he needs it. The lung problem that he was having from the fall cleared up today, so they reduced the oxygen he was getting. They still won't feed him any solid food though, so he is getting a bit cranky because he is hungry. It sounds like he will be in the hospital until at least Monday, which is good because he can't even stand up or walk yet. But at least I know he is going to be alright, so maybe I will sleep a bit tonight! I will pop on again tomorrow to let you all know how he is.... Jenn

Jenn please give Peter our best wishes... I know how he feels... ugh . Loved that pain buddy though.... Glad to hear the lung cleared up. Tell him to take care... and you take care of yourself too!

Not much new here... SSDD. Counting the days till the cruise announcments. We're going for broke... Med/Transition/Baltic!! 29 days on the Magic This is assuming of course that we sell the house by then... Anyone else??

Jenn, Thanks for the up date on Peter, Glad the long term prognosis is good, time will heal. Tell we all are thinking of him.

Made it home late last night, all is good, gte to work on the basement today, WOW there is a change, LOL.... be done come soon.

Lynn did an amazing amount of work while I was gone.

Jen, we hope that Peter is doing much better and you are doing good as well. Please give him our Best wishes for a speedy recovery! We will keep watching for updates.

Alex and I are doing good. We got home on Wednesday late from LA. We went to California Adventure for the First time all together which was kewl. Yes DD and I was there last year just for the Halloween party, but I don't count a night time crawl that was just orientation. We are planning to go back to CA for the halloween party on Halloween this year. Onto to working out our plans our AKL trip in December this week.

We came home and I decided to do a yard sale on Fri/Sat because the weather here was so beautiful. It was in the high 80's here and looking forward to a nice temp today.

We are also VERY EXCITED to hear the official word from Disney about the 2010 routes! But the Baltic, how kewl is that!!!!

Good Evening All. It's been quite a summer!

Sorry to hear about Peter's mishap. Cracked ribs are no laughing matter.
However, we did have bar-b-que ribs for dinner tonight. (sorry)

Weather here has been beautiful since returning from the cruise.
That helps with the cruise withdrawl.

Also, sorry to hear about those who brought back a bug from the cruise.
Lee picked up one too. The last cruise day was rough for her.

Future cruise....not sure yet about next year. Maybe nothing. Maybe Tortula.
We will be looking into 2010 when the dates are announced. Maybe one of the crossings.

Thanks to all who shared some pics for me. i will use them in my scrapbook. I'm excited to be getting this done. To those of you who asked for pics... watch the mail.

Here was our weekend....

So the tile is down, Lynn will have some staining on the bookcases and cleaning up the grout residue. Best investment we made this weekend was a new set of knee pads for me (old ones were shot) and a pair for Lynn. That was a bunch of work about a total of 28 man hours, we are pooped and the Jacuzzi tub felt good.

Good evening everyone...
Just a quick update. Today was not a good day. They tried to get him up walking and lets just say it didn't go very well. I am betting he won't be home anytime soon since he can't even get up by himself yet. I did tell him everyone here was asking for him, so that made him happy!! He is wishing he was on a Disney cruise. I had to promise him a cruise if he did his breathing excercises today! OK.. off to bed for me... talk to you all tomorrow....Jenn

Good Morning Folks! Looks like a nice day here, starting on the cool side (it is 34 degrees out right now!)

I still have some chores in the basement, but I have 2 weeks to get them done instead of one as Scott will be out of town over the weekend. That means I can get the dog walks in - they missed quite a few walks last week!

Picked up some new glasses today. Tough getting used to the computer screen!

Celebrated my Mother's 80th birthday this weekend. Quite a milestone. Everything went well, and she felt special. It felt good to see her so happy.

Peter, SO sorry to hear you're not doing well! Just remember the following statement- My pain is a 10 out of 10. Their goal is to get your pain level down to a 5 or 6. Also remember to get your pain level as low as possible before you try & get out of bed. That will make it easier to get up and walk. Also- have they taught you splinting? That will help your lungs and make it easier to move from bed to standing. If they haven't taught you these things- tell them I said they are crappy nurses. Also- do the incentive spirometer (the breathing exercise thing). If you're not off oxygen by now, get movin Mister!!!!
