Special 9/1/08 Cruise Continued - Part 3

We have a restaurant here that serves the fried pickle chips. They are so yummy! Right now they sound disgusting! I was up all night with the flu. Not doing so hot this am - tired and achey.

to the doctor but I know now its a very bad sprain. My foot is all blue. My question is if the magic will have any wheelchairs? If it starts bothering me can I rent one on the ship? I'm going to the doctor tomorrow since I can't move LOL. Hopefully its not broken.

So sorry to hear about that. I am so afraid of something like that to happening when you are so close to a vacation.
I am so glad I just spent the past 2 weeks going through a summer flu now treating a sinus infection. 2

Thanks for the well wishes, guys. Not sure if it is flu or food poisoning. I think flu. We went to a cook out and I was feeling not long after we got home. Laxdad ate the same things I did and he is ok. I am able to get out of bed briefly but have taken my text books and lap top with me. I have a final due at midnite. This is not good! You're right rwethereyet! I don't have time for this - really frustrating!

Well, better late than never I guess! I will be on this cruise with my friend Susan. She is a member here also, but I won't post her name unless she wants to do that. We are in cabin 5132.

I think we are going on this one. We are still trying to decide between a cruise to Alaska or Adventures By Disney. I think we will make our final decision after our ABD trip the end of September.

THere is one in September that they have Adults only.

It's been so crazy busy that I can't wrap my head around how soon I'll be in WDW!! I can't wait to see my old friends and meet new ones.

Hi everyone,

Not too much longer now. Well, FE extender gifts are done and packed. All paperwork is gathered, written down in order, confirmations are checked and double checked, copies of all confirmations are printed and in a file. Pretty much took all day!!!

Is the scrapbook gathering at 12:00 or 11:30? I thought I'd seen both times and not sure now.

Sailaway party at 4:30? DIS gathering when?

I'm so looking forward to meeting everyone. This is our first cruise. Taking my Mom and Dad. They will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Can someone put that on the list to update. We will also be celebrating my daughter Taylor's birthday (just a little early) on the ship too. She is so excited. I'm going to order her a big basket from Shirley from Mickey and Minnie!!!

Can someone tell me so that I can get gifts for servers. How many dinner servers and how many room stewards? Thanks.

Got nothing done today.....on anything. Ends up we have figured that I have food poisoning. The culprit - out of date peanut butter. I had a quick sandwich yesterday late when I realized that I hadn't had lunch. Don't eat if often. Now I never will again. Don't think I will be going into work tomorrow.

Hope all our repo cruisers are having a wonderful time! There is so much I should be doing! I still have time and it is what it is. Talk to you all tomorrow.

I have it scheduled from 12 - 1:30 p.m., but once on board, if nothing conflicts I will probably start at 11:30 a.m. I will leave a voice mail on your phone as to final place and time for the sea day.

There is your server and assistant server, then their is the dining room manager that is assigned to your table. So three people in the dining room. Then for your room host/hostess, there is only 1. If you use room service alot or use the kid's club, i've done things for them before too. Plus I have some CM's that I always take things to since I've been on so many cruises. They are just like family and I am always taking them little gifts.

So, I was mentioning to my 16 year old daughter yesterday about DVC having tours in the Cinderella Castle for the dream suite on Sunday before the cruise. She said "I want to go". I said, how are you going to swing that with school and everything. So she has tentatively cleared it with her drill team advisor and she goes to drill tomorrow and is just going to ask for the whole week off so she can come on the cruise with me too! So, for those that remember Jamie, she might just be on the ship after all. I booked an award ticket for her today and need to redeem by Tuesday.

Anyway, not that I am a proud mom or anything, but if I can link this right, here is Jamie in Hollywood (from a couple of weeks ago) where she was at a musical/performing camp. She got to perform for Justin Timberlake's producer and had a great time. The kids dancing with her are in the performing group she is in. She is the one singing. The quality is not the greatest, but you can kinda see what she looks like.

Okay, back to scrapbooking stuff. We have about 40 coming to the scrapbook class so far! I worked on a bunch more this weekend, and am getting all organized.

Yesterday's adventure. . . . Friday, I bought some new clothes, including a pair of pants that needed to be shortened. My husband had a pair that needed the pockets shortened, and a backpack that needed repair, so I got out the sewing machine (bought in 1972) for the first time in a couple years, and set it up. Once upon a time, I sewed a LOT, but not lately, obviously.

I was sitting there pinning, when the sewing machine started running, all by it'self. Hmm. no foot pedal not depressed. I reached over and unplugged the foot pedal, but the machine kept running. Then I smelled smoke
Yanked the cord and yelled for my spouse who came running to lug it outdoors until it stopped smoking. Guess I'll either have to visit the tailor, or buy a new sewing machine.

Time is ticking away!!! I got my FE gifts yesterday, MIL is dropping off my cruise doc's for me to look at this a.m., Can't wait!!

As for the scrapbook thing - i think a "tool kit" is a great idea, however, i am not checking my suitcase -- so i don't know if i can bring a trimmer on (i know scissors are most definately a no-no) ..


Also, a bit OT, but sleeveless shirts for women in the dinners are ok right? Not talking tank tops, but sleeveless shirts..

niftysquirt, here's some pixie dust for you! Last year before our cruise, Laxdad herniated a disc in his back and 2 weeks before the cruise, he got bitten by a dog. I told him I was going to wrap him in bubble wrap until we sailed. I have enough left if anyone wants any!!!

Laxmom, glad to hear you're improving a bit. Getting sick now is one of my fears too. A friend was over here Saturday with her kids, then tells me her kid got violently ill "again" Saturday night. I was not happy to say the least, as if the kid had been previously sick, don't bring her to my house!!

Anyway, I know I'm late, but I hope the repo cruisers have a great time!

Laxmom, I'll take some of that bubble wrap! It seems we always have something happening right before our trips! Last year DH broke his toe right before our WDW trip (had to rent a scooter for the trip); in March 2006 we had chicken pox going around, and our 2 nieces who were coming with us came down with it, and it was going around DD's school. I was really sweating that one.

It's hard when the kids start school (here they start tomorrow), so you know they have 2 weeks to spread the germs around. I'm hoping DD doesn't get sick with something right before the cruise. Of course, we are trying to clear up swimmer's ear!

By the way, Laxmom, take it easy! I"ve had food poisoning before, and it took me a full two weeks to not be "running" to the bathroom every few minutes.

Laxlad starts tomorrow too. He is one of those kids who doesn't get sick often, but when he does..... its' bad. I hadn't thought about the germs and flu once back to school.

I sure hope it doesn't take that long! Solid foods still aren't appealing AT ALL but I am thirsty so I am drinking....a lot! I do feel better this am but am starting to fade so it won't be long before I am back in bed.

I just looked at my travel ticker and I am so excited! Had a little panic attack this weekend as being this sick reminded me of our one cruise when we had really rough seas. The only one out of 3. Gotta get some Bonine just in case!! It is time to start a list! I am so ready for this cruise!
