NY Elaine: I sailed with Canadian Elaine and her mom in 2004. Never met her face to face and I hear someone from behind me, as we are heading to the lifeboat drill, "Bob?". Turns out she saw the cabin number on my lifevest! They were a lot of fun, but of course, they are Canadian, so we have to give them a little bit of forgiveness!

The latest POC saga is due to premiere in 25 days!

I know a few lucky cruisers will be REALLY celebrating on the High Seas during their trans-Atlantic crossing!!!

Last year, for "Dead Man's Chest", we did the midnight NYC premiere with seaulater, then came home the next day and dressed up as pirates with our whole family and stormed the local movie theater! It was great fun!!!

I just bought our tickets for the midnight show!

There's a POC children's book for sale in our local Acme market titled "At World's End" I was soooo tempted to buy it and read it, but DH said... you don't want to spoil the movie do you???

Boy did I want to read it though!!!

Isn't it great when you meet DIS'ers that way. There was someone who posted pretty regularly on our first cruise board and as the cruise went along I realized there were only a few people who I had not yet met. Then I happened to be lying next to Dody (who will be on this cruise) while in the Rainforest and I introduced myself. It's so funny when that happens. It's also funny that it seems more natural to call her Tinkerbell than Dody. LOL.

I got the email from Fandango this a.m. that the tickets were available. I couldn't wait to jump on it!

I read the book. In my opinion, you're not missing anything. I think too much is lost when it's turned into a junior novel. Where's the smut? (just kidding!) The book was good but I've already read a few "leaked" scripts, some things were similar, some not. I think I'll still be pleasantly surprised when I get to see the actual movie.

If you haven't already seen it, check out keeptothecode.com. It's an awesome PotC site. The message board is a hoot, they discuss anything and everything you could possibly think about regarding the movies. I learned about the site from Jessica (Luv2Travel). We are closet "Sparrabethers"!

I hope it's still playing in 08 when we sail! It was awesome seeing DMC on board last year & then seeing the Flying Dutchman in person!

What was so amazing was sitting on Deck 10 after the pirate party with the wind blowing in our face watching POC 1 when it is dark on the screen and they are sailing through the night. Felt like we were on that pirate ship!!

Hey Tracy! You're right about watching POC 1 outside on the ship. Just to see the opening of the movie out there under the stars with the wind blowing across the deck. While rocking with the waves you half expect to look our and see The Black Pearl!!!
