I only went once last time... I wish I had gotten the opportunity to go more often but we were always running around doing something else.

This time I'm just going to buy the pass on a daily basis.

Hubby went more than I did - he suggested that going in the evening after dinner, before they close is a good idea and a good way to warm up from our cold cruise. LOL.

I'm Dody, 34. I'm a stay at home mom. DH is Sam, 33. I believe his job title is Senior Business Systems Analyst? But basically he's a programmer for a large bank.

We have 2 kids, DD, Ashley is 12 and DS, Ethan is 10.

Dody - are you originally from Vegas?

I'm looking forward to hopefully getting warmer weather this time around. I hope there aren't any hurricanes. :scared1:

there are definitely things I will be doing differently on this trip - after learning a lot on our first cruise.

I don't think I would do the Romantic Escape again unless they change what is being offered or reduced the price because of the shorter cruise. We will be able to book now at 90 days out which was one of the big advantages the first time around.

I did enjoy some of the things we received from the package though but wouldn't want to get the same things again.

We were up on deck 9 having breakfast at Topsider's when i snapped that. :)

Somehow even though I read allears religiously I failed to stop and smell the roses on our first cruise - LOL. I will definitely be doing that this time around. We hardly took any pics at all. Maybe 100 or so. I know you took a lot.

I haven't been online for one day and I had to go back six screens to get caught up. Y'all have been busy!:surfweb:

:wave2: Hi to everyone! This will be our third Disney cruise, after our Dec. 2007 cruise. We can't wait!:hourglass

Information on the Taylors:pixiedust:
:darth: Bill is a Manager at a well known computer software company, based in Washington. He likes to run, camp, golf, watch his beloved Cowboys, and travel. He is currently 37. He will be 39 when we cruise.

:tinker: Jennifer (me) is a Stay At Home Mom. I like to scrapbook, swim, cook/bake, attend sporting events, ride rollercoasters and travel, travel, travel. I am currently 34. I will be 36 when we cruise.

pluto: Will age 6. He will be 8 when we cruise. He is currently in First Grade. He will be homeschooled starting August. Long story. He likes to camp, swim, read and play XBox 360.

::MinnieMo Emily age 4. She will be 5 when we cruise. She is our little ballerina and daredevil. Thank goodness I have at least one girl in the house with me. Our dog is even a male!

pooh: Cole age 1. He will be 3 when we cruise. He likes baths, following his sister and brother around, Little People and of course Mickey Mouse. We have Mickey as a wallpaper for our computer. He will sit in my lap at the computer and smile at Mickey. As soon as I turn the computer off he starts to cry. He was in awe when we saw Mickey Mouse for real at WDW and on the cruise. He was grinning from ear to ear. It was priceless.

From our name you can tell we are from Texas, DFW area. I am originally from Massachusetts. Everyone else in the house was born and raised in Texas. We have booked two connecting secret porthole staterooms. DH was online bright and early Jan 31st to snag them. He did good! We requested late seating for dinner. We had early last time and found it too early as we missed sunsets and the ship leaving the ports. Also, we were rushing the first night to get everyone ready for dinner after the Sail Away Party.

:upsidedow Enough about us. We can't wait for the cruise! Is everyone purchasing Travel Insurance? Usually we don't, but with the time of year (hurricane season) we are definitely purchasing it for this cruise. Congrats to Jenn and Tracy on the Roy Suite!:thumbsup2

:tinker: Jennifer

Wait just a second, I have that Cat 3 next door. Also our first time staying in a suite instead of visiting one.

If this wine and cheese party is anything like the others, we'll need the extra room. :crowded: (Now to come up with the price of admission....;) :lmao: )

We had a nice wine and cheese on our Dec. cruise - everyone brought a bottle - there were even some winemakers among us too. We held the party in a Cat. 3 suite and that DIS'er just ordered lots of cheese and crackers and fruit, veggies from room service - there was lots of food.

There is an ABC liquors in PC that we went too. They have an ok selection but easier than carrying it from home. Does anyone know of another wine shop near PC?

Sounds like a great idea!

Hey it seems like there are a lot of DC/MD people. Where is everyone else from?

We are NY escapees - living in the Hudson Valley since our twins were born 6 years ago. They will be 7.5 by cruise time.

elaine

I am a New York state escapee. I grew up in Rome and relocated to Maryland more years ago than I care to remember.

We are sharing the Roy Suite with T. :thumbsup2

EVERYONE CAN SEE IT, at the Wine & Cheese party! (You dont think with a screenname like Winotracy we would not have a little get together)

Then go next door to see the Cat 3 :scared1: (still working on that)

We will come up with a Time and Date for the party..
As details become more available!!! It is along ways away..
They have been fun in the past... :dance3:

We are so very excited to get to do this! (with everybody):grouphug:

First time in a suite! Except the parties we have been to...:dance3:

Verandah Man is going to have a sleepover!
:rotfl2:
More details on that later..

Tracy will give some more details on how the Party works and so on later.

Sounds good to me!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I just told Hazel that you and Jenn, and Tracy and Bill booked the Roy suite for the cruise after us, she said, "Oh wow!!!"

I'm dying to tell her we have a cabin booked for this cruise as well, but I have to find the right time, and Angelina said she would video tape when I share the news with Hazel.

NJ reporting in!!! ;)

I would love to go on this cruise with all of you, but and this is a big but.. I cannot plan anything that far ahead as some of you already know. Lots of my friends will be on this cruise and wouldn't we love to join you, but even if I take the insurance, I cannot cancel if Tom is too ill to make it. I talked with Disney insurance today....since his is a pre-existing condition they will not cover him.......so I cannot book this until just before....hopefully there will be some places still and if he is well enough to go on this fun cruise with lots of fun people..

Anyway, for those of you who are already booked, party on......hugs to all..it will be here before you know it. :)

I live in Williamsburg VA now, I am from upstate NY (Queensbury NY) though. :goodvibes

Williamsburg is sooooooo beautiful with all those big trees. Lucky you. We visited Historic Williamsburg a couple of years ago. The kids had a blast. DH got DS6 a Colonial hat and DD4 a bonnet to wear. They looked so cute. Sorry the photo is so small. That is as large as I am allowed to post I guess.

Jennifer, what an adorable picture!!

The price of the REAS stays the same no matter what the length of the cruise. If they change the package, we'll have an update on the DIS. :thumbsup2

BTW, I'm also in the Hudson Valley and I'm having a brain dead moment trying to remember where Saugerties is. :confused3

don't get Disney insurance - other insurances cover you for pre-existing conditions if you pay for the insurance within 10 days of booking. I'm not sure if that is in 10 days of final payment or 10 days of reserving. We just paid for our insurance last cruise right after putting our deposit down. we used the online insurance site - I forget the name - and just compared policies. You get much better coverage when you get non- Disney insurance.

I think Disney would have been slightly cheaper for us - my 85 yr old MIL pushed us into another category - but we got more comprehensive coverage for a major illness/airlift etc. while on board.

Passporter covers insurance options pretty thoroughly and your TA should be able too also if you use one.

yes I assumed the price probably did not get lowered even if you are fewer days onboard (for the Rainforest). Is the price the same on the Wonder?

I enjoyed our robes, memory box, pic, Palo etc. Our picture frame glass broke on the way home - boo hoo. We had to buy another duffle bag to hold all the stuff we got.

Saugerties - is exit 20 on the thruway - Ulster County. Home of the largest garlic festival in the world - if anyone is looking for a road trip.
