*Special 3 Night Magic Sailing 09-24-2008

My parents, myself and my younger sister will most likely be on this cruise.
I only say "most likely" because we haven't booked it yet...i think my mom is while i'm writing this....lol.
anyways my mom and I were watching "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" together when we realized the new spin-off series "The Suite Life on Deck" would be premiering this month. I jokingly mentioned that the cruise would probably have some sort of celebration since it is an Original Series (OS) and the first OS on a cruise ship... when i looked up the premier date its set for September 24th!
We'd already been looking at this cruise because it's fresh out of dry-dock, its in an impossibly perfect time period for our family... I was wondering why noone's brought it up already and what anyone else thought might happen in regards to it..

ok so not to sound mean or anything but 1. nobody cares about The suite life thats why nobodys brought it up.. and no there wont be any celebration for it. 1. it doesnt take place on a REAL cruise ship. 2. yes it is an original series but that doesnt mean anything. the only thing that they might do is show it on the big screen by the pool like they do with everything else.. since they keep the disney channel on just like they have the disney channel in the cabins.. and same thing with HSM and Cheetah girls. they dont do anything special cuz theres no reason to.

so i hope you dont have your hopes up expecting something thats not happening.

well, that's a little harsh....

I know my kids would care about something like that....although we are sailing solo this time.

However, Kphelps16, they actually did do something on a previous sailing of the Wonder....so you are right, the did do something!...just on an earlier sailing. I have included the press release:

It’s a “Suite Life” on the Disney Wonder with Disney Channel World-Premiere Event
CELEBRATION, Fla. (Aug. 26, 2008) – Disney Cruise Line will host a red-carpet, world-premiere event for the new Disney Channel original series “The Suite Life on Deck,” a spin-off of the Emmy-nominated “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody,” on the Disney Wonder cruise ship Aug. 28-31.

During this special premiere at sea, guests sailing will experience a Hollywood-style, red-carpet arrival of some of Disney Channel’s hottest stars, an exclusive sneak-peek of the first episode of “The Suite Life on Deck” and an opportunity to participate in a Question & Answer session with stars of the show. Cast members from “The Suite Life on Deck” scheduled to appear include Cole Sprouse (Cody Martin), Dylan Sprouse (Zack Martin), Brenda Song (London Tipton), Phill Lewis (Mr. Moseby) and Debby Ryan (Bailey Pickett). All events will take place on decks 9 and 10 of the Disney Wonder on Friday, Aug. 29, at the family-friendly Goofy Pool.

“The popularity of Disney Channel shows and stars are at an all-time high,” said Disney Cruise Line President Tom McAlpin. “We’re pleased to partner with Disney Channel for this world-premiere event and share some of the red-carpet excitement with our guests, showcasing that Disney difference only Disney Cruise Line can offer.”

“We’re thrilled to give “The Suite Life on Deck” a fabulous bon voyage celebration aboard the Disney Wonder. The cruise ship setting of the series made the Disney Wonder a great fit to host this event,” said Adam Sanderson, Senior Vice President, Brand Marketing, Disney ABC Networks Group. A day after the world-premiere, and following a day of fun-and-sun on Disney’s private island Castaway Cay, another Disney Channel star will take the stage. Mitchel Musso, star of Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana” and “Phineas and Ferb” will perform a mini-concert at the Goofy Pool. At the concert’s end, Musso will spend a few minutes answering questions from the audience.

This marks the first time Disney Cruise Line and Disney Channel have partnered together to develop a multi-day event. It should prove to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for fans of the Disney Channel sailing on the sold-out voyage.

If anyone else wants to join in on the Fish Extender Exchange....please PM me ASAP.

Since this is such a small group, I was going to PM a list to everyone that had the names and stateroom numbers on it.

If anyone thinks I should set it up differently, please let me me know sooner than later....

Works for me - how many do we have set up so far, I need to start some shopping !!!

It was 15...but now it has jumped to 21 people...so I may need divide it up so people aren't buying 63 items....

I also agree that was a little harsh. Although this time is a "Girls Only" trip my children love "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" and if they were saililng and something was taking place they would make that a must see for us! :yay:

Not much longer guys! Oh, and I looked on Ebay and the fish extenders I saw were being sold for around $45.00. I can't sew my own but don't see spending that money on one either. Any other ideas on something we could us?
Thanks!

I haven't gotten a fish extender yet either. I'm still looking - I may make an attempt at making one. I saw the instructions on a thread, I'm not one to sew but it looked like you could use iron-on interfacing to put it together. Or I may find some thing else to hang out - I heard someone mention finding something in the children's area - a closet organizer type thing.

I'm going shopping this week - I'm on a mission :rotfl:

Ashley....

I have seen many people with this kind...

I heard someway say they also found something similar at the dollar store...

I think you may be out of time ordering from this vendor....

Also, I have seen people just hang a small canvas bag as well...you could get that at a craft store and just decorate it...

Thanks for the info about the premiere thing. I just couldn't believe that Disney wouldn't do something to take advantage of a money op....lol.
it would've been great to be on that one too, huh?

Edit:
I also just remembered that I figured out how to make these pretty cool name-plate type things. They'd be great for door decorations.
I can put any characters or pictures or anything in any name if anyone wants one.... i'll try to finish up ours and give you guys some idea's for what it looks like....

Oh thats's cool! I would love to see what you have created for your door. I'm still trying to think of stuff to do for mine. It's my sisters B-day and I really want to make it special. Has your mom booked the cruise yet? I thought I read that she still wasn't sure. I hope she does. It will be a blast!!

my mom is now beginning to rock back and forth between this one and the thanksgiving one....
the rest of my family just wants to be on the boat!
i really want to do this one so that i can meet all of you guys and feel like a cruise reviewer...it'll be good practice writing a trip report about this one since its fresh out of dry-dock! everyone on the next one will want a day-by-day update...starting with the initial refurbishments that are most appealing!
plus we've only been on the Magic once...not that they're much different but the Magic always feels more...dare i say it...MAGICal than the WONDERful Wonder....lol

I couldn't agree more! I really love the Wonder but there is something really special about the Magic. Maybe because it's the first one or something. I really can't wait for the two new ships. I wonder what they'll name them. They should do a contest or something. That would be fun.

lol.
i think that started some intense discussion in my family when they first announced it.
i thought thay'd come up with a new "theme", magic and wonder seem to go together to me now... but i think pretty much everyone else thought it'd be something similar...i guess we'll just have to wait and see.
The one thing that there is absolutely no doubt about is that they will be some of the best ships on the sea...hands down.
