Speaking of clothes, does anyone NOT like capris?

I've been browsing in the stores and most of what I've seen for Spring are capris and short shorts. I don't do short shorts so I'm grateful that I like capris.

Does anyone dislike capris and if you do, do you wear the short shorts?

I like capris BUT this year all I'm finding are the wide bottoms- they look like gouchos from the 70's - those I don't like.

I do wear all kinds of shorts.

I have been hating capris for the last 5 years that they've been flourshing in the stores. I have yet to find one pair that is flattering on me. I will say that some people do wear them well, but I'm not one of them! I hate them. I'd rather that the fashion world focus their efforts on better shorts.

I hate capris. If I want to wear pants, then I buy pants. I wear shorts, but not he short shorts.

I love Capri's. When I was younger I felt comfortable in short shorts but as I've gotten older I've gotten more aware of parts of my body that I really don't like (one being my calves). So I love capri's that hit right below those big calves :)

I have one pair of flat front Gap capris that I love. Any others I have bought have been terrible.

I do like capris, but mainly because I have ugly, knobby knees and the capris hide them. I will wear shorts, but the weather has to truly be hot enough for them. If I can get away with lightweight capris it is really doing everyone a favor! :teeth:

I have a hard time finding any that look good on me. I am tall and the short short ones look like shorts. Regular capris just look weird.

I often buy full length pants in a shorter inseam and wear those as capris.

A longer pant just looks better on me.

I usually stick with black capris or denim. I hate the bright colored onesI don't know why, I just do.

I'd love a pair of capris but they all come to my ankles. It's shorts for me.

I love capris.
They let me show off my tattoo.

Same here! I've had good luck finding reasonable length shorts at Ann Taylor. I don't like really long shorts, but "Paris Hilton" length doesn't work for me either. A 4-6" inseem is what I'm usually looking for.

I do like a slightly tapered slim fitting ankle length pant though.

I hate capris. Well, I hate them on me. I am short so most capris just look like too short pants on me. We used to call them high waters in high school. And if I do find a pair that hit me where they should, because of my muscular calves, they just look dumb on me and make me look even shorter.

I hate them. I am tall and thin with long legs so you'd think they'd be perfect for me but for some reason I am just not comfortable wearing them. I broke down and bought a pair last year before our Disney trip and have not worn them once. I do wear shorts and I just bought a pair of gauchos this past weekend. I haven't told DH about the gauchos yet as he is not a fan of trendy clothes. I think I'll wait and surprise him - that ought to be interesting! :rotfl:

Oh, I'm really showing my age here but my first experience with "capris" was when I was about 7 years old. They had pants out they we called "pedal pushers" back then. They were for girls to wear when they rode their bikes; hence, the name. Imagine my horror when I was in my 30s and the "pedal pushers" came back with a vengeance. I loved them when I was 7, but not now. But as I said earlier, I have actually seen some women pull off the style REALLY well and I think, "hmmm, maybe I should get some." I think I bought 3 pairs at Kohl's last year and ended up throwing them all out.

I love capris!

That's all I wear in the summer. I might wear shorts again after I lose a little more weight, but for now I just can't handle the "inner thigh crawl"! :rotfl:

Anybody know what I'm talking about here??

I agree that the flared capris are awful. I like the rather lose fitting longer capris or the more form fitting denim capris. I that that, like long pants, fit is very important.

Shoes have to be right too. I look silly when I wear sneakers with capris but sandals look OK IMO. I've seen some people wear sneakers and look really cute though.

Those who wear shorts, where are you finding the longer shorts? I keep seeing the really short tight things in the stores.

I actually like the flared capris better than the tapered ones.

The tapered ones usually make people's butts look too big.

The inner thigh crawl. :rotfl: :rotfl: That's a good name for it---and it's the reason why I won't wear shorts right now either. Capris are a decent compromise for me for summer. (fitted capris, not those gauchos---those look more like "high water" pants to me than capris do).

It seems like shorts right now are either really short or way too long. :sad2:

Liz Claiborne and Ralph Lauren both have walking shorts and mid thigh length--look at the Golf section if you don't see them in sportswear.

Ann Taylor as I previously mentioned.

I bought mid thigh length at Kohl's last year. JC Penney's usually has them as well. I like the higher end of mid-thing, and Old Navy ahs those.

Get there now before they are picked over and nothings left unless you are a size 2.

I have a nice Liz Claiborne outlet close by that I've been meaning to hit. Thanks Anne for the heads up.
