Space Mountain: Clothing Optional - All done and true even if it is April Fool's

She looks hideous but once I knew who it was - and BTW good sleuthing...it was from TMZ - I totally recognized the eyes. She is 50 years old.

That means Shocker looks like he is 22!

I am searching high and low for a picture of me when I was around that age (22)!

 'Ohana! The wings and bread pudding are my faves too!! The meat was much better on our last trip than our first trip. It's a must do for us.

The hookie hookie lau lady or however you spell it drives me nuts. So much so that I wouldn't even take DS7 up to do the hula with her last time because I feared what I might say to her within the range of her attached microphone! She reminds me of Charo. But worse.

Poor Carysn!!! :lmao: So classic brother sister stuff. Glad the kids got some teen time. I understand the needing two rooms business. We had the same thoughts on the last trip, and my boys are 7 and 2. More ways to funnel money into Disney! YAY!

Had to share the picture that Lily made to put into Treyner's care package:

IMG.jpg

It's Treyner playing soccer with Lily watching him (in her heart dress, of course). That's an airplane on it's way to Disney in the sky. ;)

That is very sweet and quite cute.

I hope it all goes well, as if you need more to worry about
I can handle it! Not much more though!
So so true :rotfl2: Plus think how many more Dad's would join in if she were younger :rotfl:
I know! There are things Disney gets and things they totally do not!
Poor girl, at least they didn't wake her. BTW how did you arrange the beds?
The boys shared the one bed and then Carsyn was on the floor with bedding - a few might later they switched!
LOL at the boys and Carsyn's snoring!
It was funny!
I know those aren't your pics from Ohana, but WOW! With all the reviews that haven't been that great lately I was second guessing that ressie. Your review was excellent and I am more excited to eat there than before!
It is great and I would not change your reservation for anything!
I am searching high and low for a picture of me when I was around that age (22)!
I need to see one! :worship:

Marlboro Charo! Totally! I am dying! LMAO!

Disney and the Mafia are one and the same! I am convinced! Think about all the possibilities of money laundering they have! (Can you tell I have been watching Godfather movies lately!)

I didn't realize Treyner had such big blue eyes. She captured him perfectly. Those are the most special ones, it's a keeper. Well still trying to dig out of course I'm not doing any of the digging thats why I let him pay 500 for a snowblower so I don't have to do it anymore. The magic of progress. I don't have to shovel it anymore!!!:wizard::woohoo:

Treyner's eyes must be aided by the same contacts Lily has since her's are a beautiful shade of Purple! :lmao:

Or he has changed since I last saw him and Shannon's dog is a demon with Red eyes!

Ya never know! :rotfl2:

I love little kids writing and pictures. Esp. when the kids drew me as skinny and not a potato head!

Member those? Just a big ole circle with sticks hanging out for limbs! Crack me up!

I still have some from Cory where the cat looks like a baked potato with legs and we all have bright beautifully floresent hair and feet the size of skis. those were the days when they actually had that wonderful imagination now its all computer generated. Oh well sign of the times, I loved how the boys got Carsyn to stop snoring, I wonder if it will work on Dan, he has some pretty bad nights, right now he's out helping half the neighborhood get out of the snow again, He took care of the other half yesterday,, at least he's not underfoot.

Great update Dawn. Ahhhhh.....traveling with teens. They are on a completely different time schedule / bio rhythm. Coming home at 2am in the morning would have been a bummer for me. I would probably wake up thinking it was morning. Then I might have been awake for hours before falling back to sleep.

I bet those boys didn't get up very early the next day.

Thanks for the Ohana's pics. Even though I have eaten there a few times, I always forget what the first course is. I love those wings, but I am going to try not to fill up too much before the meat and shrimp come around.

Dawn.....I hope your Dad is doing well
Jan, oh Jan...whatever has happened to you????
Ohana's always looks good but I'm not a huge Asian food fan.....once like every 6 months is good for me! ;) Although the meat/shrimp on a stick looks good :rotfl2:
Shann....love Lily's picture! Adorable!! :goodvibes

So I had to through my hat in the ring with having a truly dysfunctional family!! I never got along with my mother as a kid - always closer to my dad. Fast forward to when I was 18 and my parents got divorced, I stayed with dad and his new GF mom went back to NY to her mommy. I then met my now ex who was my dad's gf 2nd cousin. My mom flips out and automatically hates him because of who he is related to and stops talking to me. I get married without mom there - still not talking to me. After I had my first dd I sent her a letter and birth announcement. 6 months later she sent it all back to me unopened with her own letter saying I was dead to her since the age of 18 - nice huh?! Have 2 more kids - try to get in touch with her over the years - it would last for a few months and then she would get pissed about something and that was that. Really I should have never tried but I guess I had my sucker hat on. 5 years ago I lost my dad, and 6 months later I leave my ex (best move I ever made - which is another story) and I reach out to good old mom again... Now remember she hated ex and he hated her... Wait for it... wait for it -- YEP she took his side and they are all buddy buddy and I am out of the picture -- again!! She even sends him Christmas cards to my son!!! WHAT A JOKE!! She goes to visit him when he has the kids too. Well the joke will be on them because the kids want to live with me full time now - don't know what she will do - oh well not my problem.... So I may sound hard and crass, I get the whole she is your mother and I am breaking commandments etc etc, but as my Priest once told me - it's time to STOP BEING A DOORMAT for her! I hope this helps you deal with your situation - if not maybe you can get a laugh our of it because it is just soooo ridiculous -you just can't make this stuff up!!

But there is a happy ending I met the love of my life and have been blissfully happily married to him for 3 years and I would not trade anything I have gone through for him or my kids! And believe me I have gone though alot with the ex - can you say mental cruelty.... can you say bipolar - Yet another story for another day! Maybe it's good to vent all this stuff to clear the way for weight loss!

So sweet! I love those pics and take them out every so often. :lovestruc

Not bad actually at all! Comming up you shall see!

Since I am not a huge meat eater..the wings satisfy me just fine!

One thing I forgot to say about that night was when they found out Dan has a food allergy (oranges) and issues with certain foods (beef and rice) they had the chef come to the table and go over what he can eat and could not. Very impressive and what a great way to make sure that someone doesn't get sick by accident!

Ohana's always looks good but I'm not a huge Asian food fan.....once like every 6 months is good for me!
Have you been there? Because it is not actually very Asian at all in flavor. More Pacific Island so lot's of sweet undertones but not sickly sweet either. Not your traditional Chinese or Vietnamese etc...at all. I think you would love it!

Tracy

So I had to through my hat in the ring with having a truly dysfunctional family!!

That just stinks. Dan and I both are dealing with certain pieces of what you described and it is not fun.

It is so hard when it is family to let go and move on. With friends I can walk away...with family though - you want to make them see your side. Truth is though that their issues will always come first if they are self centered and that seems to be a huge piece of what you are dealing with.

Just remember you can pick your friends and I certainly don't have the issues with them I have with my family!! My mother is all about her and her issues, if the universe does not revolve around her then she is all a twitter:rotfl:. Thank God for my hubby (Bill) and for your Dan!! It seems without them nothing would be sane!

Chapter 6 -"I know I am crazy but how did I lose it this bad?"

The next morning we actually got up and were moving fairly early. My best guess was that we were out the door by 9:30 a.m. I truly was not on a time schedule and since we are there often…did not feel the pressure to move fast. :worship:

Carsyn was feeling cr@ptastic so she asked to stay and sleep in a bit. She felt hot and was just miserable. So I gave her some ibuprofen, filled up her water glass, made her take off the warm sweat outfit she had been wearing into shorts and a t-shirt, adjusted the room temp and said I would call her in a few hours. I had offered to stay but she just wanted quiet and more sleep. I am totally the same way. She wanted to join us in a bit. :thumbsup2

Before we left I made sure the phone was near her and her cell phone, placed the do not disturb sign on the door and Dan and I with the boys headed to the bus stop. A bus came within minutes and we were on the way. The day was supposed to be sunny but cool again so no big tanning day like we had hoped for!

We got through security and then went and got a new pass for Baylor. They did not question anything and the pass worked for the rest of the day and trip like it had the last year. The people there were much nicer than at AK and actually wrote down my experience and who I had spoken with.

My mind is fuzzy about that morning…I know I was distracted cause Carsyn was sick…but I totally have to take more notes this spring break!

We went on TOT and RNR right away and then headed towards the back part of the park. I snapped a few pictures by the lake of the boys and they were nice enough to pretend for one that Carsyn was there. They said I could photo shop her body in…like I have a clue how to do that! :confused3

P1030309.jpg

What a bunch or dorks!

Just as we were coming to American Idol…they were rushing people in and we decided to run with the bulls and make the screening. The boys had never done it and they really liked it a lot. There was a 15 year old girl that sang that captured Baylor’s eye. I thought she was pretty good actually.

There was also a singer that was a cross between Weird all Yankovec and Cookie Monster. She could sing okay…she chose Gloria Estefan’s 123 song.

Ya know the one…

1-2-3-4 come on baby say you love me
5-6-7 times
8-9-10-11 I’m just gonna keep on counting
Until you are mine

Well she might need some Prozac is all I am saying. :rolleyes1

Like a vat full. :lmao:

She was not a petite woman and she was jumping around :yay:…bending over and pumping her feet as her back yard swayed up and down :scared1:…and then when the chorus happened…she shoved out her hand and counted
1
2
3
4
While putting out her fingers one by one and throwing her arm back and forth as she counted.

I was not sure if she was going to have a seizure or not.

She looked similar in many ways to:
tv5yz.jpg

Kathy Najimy in Hocus Pocus!

Dark curly hair but loony as heck!

She did not win and the faux Simon told her she scared him and needed to tone it down a notch. :cool2:

The third contestant won and Dan picked her so he was happy! She was not memorable to me…long blond hair. big horse teeth, 20, and just too “Golly Gee my life is wonderful. My Mom has never had to tell me no…I am Polyanna perfect…” for me not to wantto take her out back and slap a chicklet out.

P1030312.jpg

Here is a picture of all of them…
The young one the boys and I liked has her arm up…Nut Job Nancy is in the middle and Flawless Fern is on the left.

We left the set and were hungry. Actually we were hungry before but waited to eat to see the show.

Now this is where we began our race around DHS to find a friggin restaurant that Dawn new she wanted to eat at but forgot the cheat sheet and so was guessing.

Ever notice how all the CS eateries have a theatrical/tv influence? Well when you are having a brain freeze and needing food…they all sound the same. :headache:

Now get out your DHS maps so you can follow where we went to!

First up…
Around the corner by Star Tours…Back Lot Express. This was not what I wanted or read about…all I knew was the place I wanted had desserts to choose from that did not taste like Astronaut food.

Next 2 blocks over and up the hill to the Backlot…

Studios Catering Co.

Greek salad sounded interesting but I knew that this was not what I wanted either.

Next stop back to the middle from where we had just passed:

ABC Commissary…
Again…not what I wanted and at this point the boys looked like they could care less and just wanted to eat. I might have had a tear in my eye because I wanted to not be such an idiot and I was frustrated because I knew what I wanted…could describe the desserts and nobody who worked there knew what I was talking about. I felt like I was the star in an episode of Dr. Who. Like it was not reality and maybe I was making it all up.

We went outside and I talked to the lady working the DVC counter. She directed me to the Writers Stop next to ABC and thought they might know. I had plans of getting a carrot cake cookie anyway so we went in.

We bought 2 carrot cake cookies and a white chocolate macadamia nut and I think a chocolate chip. Asked for them to go and then asked them and they said they had no clue either.

As we went back outside - the DVC lady approached me and said…“Are you talking about Starring Rolls?“

The heavens parted as I swept her off her feet and threw her in the air. :lovestruc I was so excited and yes…that was exactly what I was talking about!

I think the boys were in love with her as much as I was at that point!

So we made a bee line for it and I was thanking God it was the smallest of parks!
Some of the bevy of dessert delicacies!

Sandwiches:

Dan’s crotch and our food!

P1030316.jpg

Baylor not planning on waiting another moment and the rest of our food!

We split 3 meals and it was plenty of food!

The sandwiches were full of meat and honestly beyond filling! The cupcakes and Treyner’s tart were amazing.

I have been to this park close to 20 times and never saw this place before! Best CS by far and best desserts for any CS in any of the parks and better than many TS desserts I have had!

It was at this point I began to call Carsyn. It was noon. She was not answering…

I was beginning to worry…so I called the hotel and they put me through to the room and she did not answer there either…

So I figured she must be in the shower…

Was I right or was I worng?

OH MY that food from Starring Rolls looks wonderful! I cannot wait to eat there!

That stinks that Carsyn wasn't feeling well :sad1: Hopefully it didn't take her down for too long!

As always...:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

I hope Carsyn was getting up and ready to come find you! Your food looks delish! We got some treats there last trip and I never noticed any sandwiches. Of course I may have been distracted and preoccupied with my chocolate croissant! Maybe next time I'll have to have an actual meal there! Obviously the desserts are way better than that chocolate cake in a cup you get everywhere else!

OH MY that food from Starring Rolls looks wonderful! I cannot wait to eat there!
I can't wait to go back! Such a relaxing spot to sit and enjoy the meal also!

Obviously the desserts are way better than that chocolate cake in a cup you get everywhere else!
Most of those premade desserts taste like they have been frozen and thawed more than once!
That's where we always go, such a refreshing change from burgers :thumbsup2

It was! I am sure the desserts put you over the calorie threshold but the sanwiches did not make you feel gross...esp if you split one!

Your lunch looks delish! I am going to remember that when I get to DHS next week....

Hmm, I'm betting you're wrong...you said she could sleep through anything so I'm going with she's still asleep and didn't hear the phone.

I can't remember if you said or not, were you on the dining plan? Or do you know at Starring Rolls do you get a sandwich, chips and dessert altogether? At Sunshine Seasons in Epcot it was just a sandwich and dessert, no chips.

That looks like a meal we will split and use the extra CS for breakfast sometime during our stay :goodvibes

So some sad news for fans of the Deadliest Catch as well as family and friends of a guy who spoke his mind and loved and lived hard!
