We have bought tickets through a discount ticket broker. Will the tour that comes with those tickets get us close enough to the launch site to see where the shuttle takes off. We are going to be there the week before the launch and wanted to see the space shuttle since it is being moved to launch position.

Thanks

I am not sure what tickets you purchased; tickets to tour the space center can be had at their website, which is www.kennedyspacecenter.com.

The shuttle is already on the pad. If you are there the week before, what you will see is only the fuel tank and solid rocket boosters. The shuttle (the orbiter) itself will be covered by the launch gantry.

You can get as close as one mile away on the tours. If you have any more questions, just ask.

Yes, we were just there. The tour takes you to the Observation Gantry where you can see the shuttle launch pads. Ben is correct though, the view is obstructed somewhat, but you can see a bit of it. It's an awesome place though, regardless. You'll enjoy it, and probably won't see everything.

I found that some of the discount places wanted over $40 for the same tickets that KSC sells for $38. They call them "Maxium Access" but I didn't see where you got anything extra from them. I'm glad we just bought them there.
