It is easier to get a Space 220 ADR at 60+ for Dinner vs Lunch vs Lounge? I’m thinking peeps want the experience at the lowest cost? Maybe another reason?🤷‍♀️

I'm not an expert, but I have read that the lounge reservations are going faster than the restaurant. I believe you are correct that many people want the experience and have learned it is cheaper to do the lounge and not be tied into a prix fixed menu.

They’re all difficult. People didn’t know about lounge previously because it was walk up and then changed to ADR. Lounge is definitely more flexible than lunch/dinner.

Lounge seems impossible - we tried 3 diff days of our May trip and Nada - but restaurant was pretty easy to get - which I have no interest in when I saw the food offerings for the price. Lounge is the way to go if you can score it. I have a ADR finder running for a month almost with no hits.

Same here…have ADR finder set up we go mid-May…only like 3 hits in 3 weeks and wasn’t able to snag them despite trying immediately upon receiving the text.

Can someone school me on how the "CANCELLED ADR Thread" works? (sorry, I'm still new to all the Dis lingo & nuances). What happens when you go to the Conversation/PM to coordinate? Is it really that easy to transfer a reservation?

It's not easy to transfer; technically I think it's impossible because the system (and the CMs on the phone) don't support transfers. The coordination in the cancellation threads just involves coordinating the exact time that the reservation holder is planning to cancel the reservation, so that the other person knows to refresh the availability a split second later and hopefully be the first person there to grab it when it pops up in the system as a new available time.

Also I posted about this elsewhere but I think the mod deleted the post because they misunderstood: I talked to a cast member on the phone that handles dining reservations who told me that they've heard of people (who know/trust each other or otherwise prepared to trust/gamble) who just agree to informally "exchange" reservations by showing up at each other's times and giving each other's names, because basically all of the restaurants just ask for the name on the reservation and aren't checking IDs for you to prove that you are the reservation holder. **Attention to moderators**: I am not suggesting that people coordinate such activity on here in the forums; I recognize that it's against this site's policy to coordinate swaps and I will actively discourage anyone from using the dining reservations forum to make these kinds of offers. That said, I don't think the moderators would be interested (able?) to monitor private conversations where people discussed this.

Ah ok. I'm on west coast time so it would be an earrrrrly morning having to get up to make my 1st reservations. Also, what does 60 +7 days mean? I thought I could make reservations no earlier than 60 days out? What's the +7?

That means that at 60 days before checkin, the person is making an ADR for the 7th day after checkin. Disney resort guests can make ADRs for their length of stay, up to 10 days, at 60 days out.

Oh I see. We are resort guests checking in 7/21-27. So I would be able to make reservations on 5/21 for our entire stay?

I’ve done it before and the ones I dropped were successfully transferred. Basically you set up a time where someone will drop and someone will try to grab right after. Best to do it in the middle of the day or late night/early morning when there’s less likely someone else will be checking and grab it first

I have yet to fail doing this for someone as well. I have already dropped 3 this week and all were successful in getting my reservation (including space 220 Lounge). If you are the one who wants the res, make sure to be signed in and have the restaurant up with the date and time already in there. I have them refreshing the private convo here on another tab, waiting for my "dropping in 10 seconds" message.

I got almost none of the restaurants I want for my upcoming trip so I keep checking to see if anyone is dropping

60 days before is 5/22 but I always check with Disney to make sure I have the exact date I can start. You don't want to miss your start date. But to answer the question, yes thats exactly what you can do. I was actually able to book for 11 days from the start. Its supposed to be 10. Not sure why that happened but im not going to complain :)

It’s 60+10 and check-in day is considered 60+0 so it is 11 days worth of ADR, but 10 extra days compared to someone staying offsite that only has access to 60+0.

Yes, thank you good point. I will call them to see what the exact day is :-)

This is very helpful, I have been wondering how this works.
