FYI about the fitness center and teens:
We just got back from the 3-15-03 Western Magic cruise. My 16 yo daughter, a competitive figure skater, wanted to use the center to keep her fitness level up while off the ice. She is familiar with all the fitness equipment as she works out every day on many different types. I actively campaigned to get her permission to use the fitness center. There were no exceptions to the 18 year old rule. NO budging NO bending of the rules. They said that it is an ADULT ONLY AREA of the ship, advertised as such, and for insurance reasons as well, could not allow teens for any reason to use the center. The only way a teen can use the fitness center is during a few designated "teen" times in the center arranged by the common grounds staff. This time is fully supervised by the commmon grounds staff. The times are 8-9pm, 3 times during the cruise (I can't remember the days) but they did my daughter absolutely no good because we were on late seating for dinner. What she did to compensate for this, was to run around deck 4, 1/4 mile one time around and do other exercises needing no machines etc. She was "rusty" when she got back on the ice but after a few days, her endurance level was back.
