Need some opinions/suggestions! This is our first Cruise and my DW and 2 adult DD's (in their 20's) want to partake in a spa treatment or 2. We have no idea how the process works but would like to book ahead. We are on the Fantasy and we're leaving the first of May (in case that makes a difference)
First, as new cruisers, what are the chances of booking a session in the first couple of days (at sea)?
Any suggestions for the best times to book?
Is it possible that they can have their treatments together...sort of a mother/daughter/daughter bonding moment  ? They are still deciding which one(s) they want to do, but I'm thinking one will involve a massage...although, according to what I've heard so far....they want to do them all :woohoo:

Hi Canadave!

First, make sure that you pay for the cruise in full no later than 1 week before your 75 day 'cruise activities' booking window. That will give either your travel agent or DCL time to process the payment and show you as 'paid' before your window opens.

You will be at the 'bottom' of the cruise activities booking window- but don't let that get you down. Spa services are in that section of your cruise page, and if you choose 'search all days' for whatever you're looking for- you'll be good to go.

Hopefully my copying the list will work for you:

Hope that this information helps your family decide which to do. They also usually run 'packages' on port days for a bit less.

Good luck!!

P.S. Just as a reminder/warning; the Spa is not a Disney run spa, they're outsourced. As such, they will be pushing 'products' for purchase.

If your ladies are not wanting either the products or they want the products but don't want to pay full price, there's a website that is run by the spa company that regularly runs products for 20% off or more. Just have them tell the host/hostess when they check in that they don't want to be 'sold' any products.

I usually have the esthetician write down what they used on me during my treatment and I'll check out web prices when I get home (if I like what the product did for me).

They often run spa specials once you are onboard. I've found that I get better deals once I'm on the ship, and since most treatments are done in a private room, it really doesn't matter if you have it at the exact same time as someone else.
You might be better off getting the Rainforest Room pass for the entire cruise, and arranging to meet there for "do it yourself" treatments. A friend and I did that on our Dream cruise. We were able to go to the sauna, then the steam room to do a scrub treatment, then to the different showers, and then relaxed on the heated loungers. We could do that all together, and chat and giggle while we did it! :)

The Rainforest Room is awesome (and affordable!) However, if they're not planning on going EVERY day of the cruise, buying day passes usually makes more sense.

I know they have Mother/daughter treatments, but I'm not sure about the three of them, since the most beds any one room has (to my knowledge) is two.

On our last cruise, we were first time cruisers and had absolutely no problems whatsoever getting the treatments and days/times that we wanted for the spa. You should be fine. Have a good time!

Thanks for the replies. That's good to hear that we have a good chance at picking our times. I was afraid we'd be relegated to Pirate's night or something.
I figured that they wouldn't be able to do a treatment together, but I will definately tell them about the Rainforest Room.
And thanks *Flower* for the tip about paying a week early...never thought about that, but it sure makes sense :thumbsup2
