I know that when you purchase something at one of the parks you can have it sent back to your Disney Resort. Is it possible to have it sent back to a FW campsite? If so do they just leave it outside your RV or is there a place at FW to pick it up?

Meadows Trading Post is where you pick up purchases delivered to the Fort.

I think it was the Trading post where you pick your packages up from. We did this last time we were there, my dd just had to buy another disney snowglobe, but don't get in any rush for it because it took us two days to get ours delivered to FW.

just make sure you don't send them the day before you are to check out..they take a little longer to get to the post

Meadows to pick up packages, DS is a shopping guru, we go every day.

2 days, do the CM's not know where FW is?

Thanks to everyone for your quick responses. We leave on Fri for the Fort and I'm starting to have all kinds of little things pop into my head.

I use this all the time and it is great. My packages are usually at the Post the next day. I think one time when I got a personalized ornament it was two days. They did always asked us at the stores when we were leaving to make sure it wasn't that next day.

Just make sure you don't send any alcoholic beverages back. Otters have been known to hijack those shipments!

MAN! I keep treating everything like the community board now! Back before they delivered packages, DS bought a sword in Japan and they wouldn't let him carry it through the park so we picked it up at the front. He then went to MK and carried it all over the place through the night. We have a picture of him carrying it on Splash Mountain. Try taking that through security these days!

Speaking of the community board, can someone please explain the concept to me? Why do we need one? Did I miss something along the way?

Now, all the sword shops have signs that swords MUST be shipped to your home.

this part is for info, the community part is for socializing. separating the 2 will help new people coming here looking for info. not chit chat.

Oh. I am still pretty new here and kind of enjoyed it with everything mixed together. Kind of like a campground, everyone just tossing different ideas and topics back and forth around the camp fire. But I guess I'll get used to the new way too.

I have never used this service before. What do you need to show to pick up your item at the Trading Post? reciept? disney resort id?

thanks!

When you have something shipped to the room, you get the green copy of this "HUGE" receipt. That's what you show to pick up your stuff.

(There are like 4 copies). One they keep, one goes IN the bag, then one gets stapled to the outside of the bag, and you get one.

So when you get home you have millions of receipts.

2 days is true of any resort. You need to keep logistics in mind... vast amounts of guests shopping... 20 thousand shops on property (ok, ok, there are really only 13 thousand), and a multitude of resorts and DVC's. In all honesty, I think 2 days is kinda reasonable,,,, and it sure beats lugging disney crap around all day!!:thumbsup2

On the flip side of this 2 delivery discussion, can I have purchased items shipped to FW all week and just go pick them all up at the end of our stay instead of dropping in each day? Do they have a problem holding items an extended amount of time?

Yea, if you're leaving the next day, don't expect to get anything delivered, no matter where you are staying. As Debbie said, there are just way too many guests having stuff delivered for them to be able to guarantee same day delivery.

We were just talking about this last night, because on our next trip we're picking up some wine at Epcot on Saturday, but we won't have time to pick it up later in the day, and we also leave on Sunday.

So it looks like I'll be walking around with 2 bottles of wine in my backpack during the day. Hmmm, they better not put a bottle opener in my backpack too...lol

Yes, you can do that, BUT, I would do it at least 24 hours before you leave, that way if something has not arrived, you have time to track it down or get a refund before going home. You don't want to be missing your DME bus or getting on the road 3 hours later than you planned because you are hassling with Disney Merchandise,
