Souvenir cups with glow cubes?

We've gotten them at Sci Fi several times. The hard glow in the dark plastic cup with a lid and a fat straw, and a glow cube inside. Do they have them anywhere else? My kids have been reusing those cups for years, they even survive the dishwasher. However, after a few years of use they're nearing the end of their life spans, LOL... one got stepped on and cracked, one got lost, we have only two left. Last year DD got a cup with a glow in the dark Tinker Bell clipped to the straw. The Tinker Bell was really cute but the cup was basically disposable, not a keeper. I'm looking for the hard cups that are reusable.

I've been wondering if we need to go to Sci Fi next trip to get more cups or if they can be found anywhere else. TIA

Here's a picture of the cup I mean, it's behind the sundae...

Yes, I know this cup well...

Although there are other places to order the glow cube, Sci-Fi is the only one I have ever seen with that HARD PLASTIC cup. We have ordered PLENTY of glow cubes... :rolleyes1

I'll be there in a few weeks and keep an eye out for you :)

Just wondering what do you have to order to get that cup??

Where else can you get the glow cubes and do they continue to work afterwards?? or is like a 24 hr thing, like the glow sticks... anyone know??

The glow cubes turn on and off so they work a long time! My kids are still playing with ours from last May. It has 3 different "flashing" cycles and then the 4th time you push the button it goes off :)

I saw them being sold in some of the gift shops this past Christmas. They were not EVERYWHERE, like some souvenirs are (autograph books, magnets, keychains, etc.) but I did see them a few times.

thanks for the info... does anyone know what "type" of drink you have to order at Sci-fi for it? or do you just have to tell them to put it in that cup??
TIA :)

We just got regular sodas in ours. I think we paid $7 or so each.

I got a blue glow cube in my Year of a Million Dreams martini at Boma, lol. So they do come in adult drinks - I think most TS restaurants offer the same martini. Unfortunately, even with turning off my cube, it did not last over a week. (Sigh) I guess I'll just have to order another martini :confused3

At one time (a couple of years ago) they were available at Le Cellier.

I have also ordered them through our server at Chef Mickey, but it took quite awhile...I think he went to the bar for it ... It was aound $5 or so to put it into the regular soda glass. My DS always loves these.

If they are available in a specialty "cocktail" they will usually add them to a child's soft drink, FOR AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE. Make sure you ask for a standard glass (not a childs), to better appreciate THE GLOW CUBE in all its wonder... :drinking1

We got them at Hollywood and Vine in Sept.

Was it just the glow cube? Or did it come in a souvenir cup that is reusable like the one I got at Sci Fi (photo in the second post)? TIA :goodvibes

It's not as big as the one in your pic, but at 50's Prime Time they have a resuable kids cup with flex straw and closable lid. It comes with a lightup Tink or Captain Hook which clips onto the straw.

I bought a pack of two glow cubes from the Disney Shop at Orlando Airport while we were waiting for our flight in December. I have them in my hand as we speak. They were 6.50 for the 2 and say Authentic Original Disney Theme Parks - Disneyland Resort Walt Disney World.

Hi - I have exactly one of the sci-fi cups that was pictured in this thread. Love it. It really holds up to making fresh ice tea using hot water. But really would like to have another.

In May I'm going to poke my head in the Sci-Fi and see if I can just buy the cup. (Plenty of the glow cubes reside with us already from other WDW drinks). If anyone sees them there before mid-May - drop us a reply.

thanks
