Southwest's Nonstop from FNT

I have been considering Southwest's nonstop flight to Orlando from Flint/Bishop Int'l for my next visit this summer. Because Flint is a small airport, Southwest has only 2 or 3 flights to Florida per day. I was wondering what happens if the lone Orlando flight should be canceled for any reason. At a big airport (i.e., DTW), I'd assume they would still be able to get people to Orlando on other flights somehow, but that would be quite a challenge from Flint. Anyone ever faced this situation?

Southwest doesn't have agreements with other airlines, so you would hope to be booked on the next flight. Or, since Flint looks like it's only an hour from Detroit you could try to get on a flight to Detroit and have someone come get you or rent a car to go from Detroit to Flint. It's happened to my husband on other airlines. When we lived in MO he would take the Cape Air commuter to STL and catch a flight out from there. Worked well for him on many occasions, but not so great on others. Once he caught a ride with a co-worker who had drive to STL, at least once he rented a car and drove home after stopping for a few hours sleep in a hotel, and once I kid you not, the weather was bad and they couldn't take off, but there were enough people who really needed to get back to the Army base that Cape Air rented a party bus and drove everyone who was supposed to be on that flight the 2 + hours to FLW. He said it was the least party he'd every experienced on a party bus!

We use that FNT flight from time to time. I figure if it gets canceled, I will try to get rebooked onto a connecting/stopping flight out of DTW if necessary.

We scored $88 flights from Flint to Tampa in March. We usually do Buffalo. But it is only 40 mins longer to go this way. You also have Grand Rapids not far either.
