Hi Everyone,

Sorry if this has been brought up before. If so, please point me in the right direction.....Those of you who have used Southwest Vacations to book a WDW trip, how were your experiences? Any issues, comments, experiences, and advice would be appreciated. :thumbsup2

I've used them for clients to book a room category that Disney was showing unavailable, and was pleased with them. It was however slightly more expensive than it would have been thru Disney.
Also remember that if booking air in the package thru Southwest Vacations, you can't check in ahead of time online for seating.

You also can't take advantage of any price drops in airfare, or DING specials.

You can get boarding passes BUT you have to go to the airport to get them. We just did this for our Vegas trip. It is a pain to do. We had to go to the airport and wait at the counter until exactly 24 hours before (like you would on line) and then they have to print the boarding pass. We are in group A so mission accomplished for today but we won't give up the vacation time to do it on the way home. WHY OH WHY they do it this way is beyond me!

we used them before and only downside was the paper tickets and not being able to check in online - you have to go to the airport to check in!!

we priced the package out and it was cheaper then but this time around it was cheaper to do it separately

I wanted to return to this thread and tell you that we did end up in group C for the return flight. We were lucky and another family moved around a bit and we got 2 seats together in the back of the plane. Had they not chosen to do it we would have been in separate rows. Other than that the package was great. No trouble at the hotel with the voucher and got a refurbished room and they honored our request. I was worried since it was an inexpensive package but all was fine.

I would never fly Southwest again. I would rather pay extra to have a seat assigned when I purchase the tickets. Don't get me wrong, the flight attendants were very pleasant and the flight was good but I had to wait in line at guest services (in Epcot) 24 hours prior to our flight just to get my boarding pass. Even though we were assigned boarding A (which is fist) my husband, son and I could not sit together. Not for me!

I found this thread through a google search while having problems with check in for a southwest vacation and wanted to update it to help fellow travelers.

You can indeed check in online but they don't make it easy.

Your confirmation number sent via email from Southwest will not work and you can't use the Southwest web site to find the right number.

I called SW and found out that the only place you can find the number is on the back of the legal sized travel info sheet they send you via snail mail. Look for the six digit letter number combination after the phrase "Airline Confirmation Number" it will look something like this: YT6UIK.

Have a Magical Vacation

We haven't used SW Vacations for Disney, but we did use them once in the past for another destination & had no issues.

I'm not sure if it's changed but I used Southwest Vacations 2 years ago & was able to check in online @ 24 hours. I just couldn't add EBCI.

I have used Southwest Vacations a few times for WDW trips. It was the best deal I could find out there, and everything went smoothly. If you are looking for hotel, tickets, and airfare, always price out getting hotel and tickets from SouthwestVacations and airfare from southwest.com, and compare that to getting all three from SouthwestVacations. I found buying the airfare separately at southwest.com saved $300. Crazy, I know.

I now rent DVC points when I go to WDW, but if ever I need a last minute WDW vacation (<7 months out), I go to SouthwestVacations.
