Since Delta is being a *add explicitive here*, I have decided to go on and book with SW. My question is with the senior fare (I'll have 3 seniors, 2 regular), how do they know it's a senior fare? Has anyone had to show id? Is it written on the ticket? I wanted to know how it worked at the airport. Thanks!! :cool1:

I just booked a senior fare on Southwest for my mother. If you enter how many seniors will be traveling with you (under “How many are traveling") when booking online the senior fare will come up. There will be a separate column for the senior prices. They actually had a cheaper rate than the senior fare for her return flight -had to book two one way tickets cannot combine senior fare with any other fare - because they were have an internet special so make sure you double check all rates.
I read this morning that you cannot check in online unless you have verified your age - from the website:

If you are traveling on a Senior Fare and do not have a Rapid Rewards or MySouthwest Account, you must create one in order to check in online or at a RAPID CHECK-IN Kiosk
# You must make a copy of your driver’s license or another government-issued photo identification that indicates your date of birth.
# Mail your verification information to: Southwest Airlines Customer Relations; PO Box 36662; Dallas, TX 75235. Please be sure to indicate your account number with your request.
# The date of birth field in your account will be updated to reflect that you are verified. Please allow 4 - 6 weeks for processing.
.

# Note: Though you must be age verified to check in for your Senior Fare reservations online, you do not have to be age verified to purchase Senior Fares online.
If you are traveling on a Senior Fare, and you are not age verified, you MUST provide valid proof of age (driver's license or other accepted identification) at the airport when exchanging your confirmation number for a boarding pass. You will not be able to check in online or at a RAPID CHECK-IN Kiosk. A Medicare card is not considered valid proof of age.

Hope this helps - Good luck
