Southwest seating

Anybody have any advice on which seats are the good seats?? We are flying Southwest and I believe the jet type is a 737-700. This is my wife and dauaghters first time flying and want a good window seat.

They're all about the same. Some considerations:

• Bulkhead/front row - you can't have your carry-on baggage at your feet because there's no underseat storage since there's no seat in front of you
• Row in front of the exit row doesn't recline - neither does the back row, I believe

If you want a good view, go for the first few rows or go way to the back so the wings don't block your view.

Obviously it is going to depend on when you get to board and what is available. If you want a good view, you are going to need to be front of the wing or several rows behind it. You should be able to judge that when you get on the plane.

Also use seatguru to check the window seat in EVERY row on BOTH sides of the plane. Once is a while, you'll run across one where the window doesn't exactly line up with the seat.

Make sure you check in at EXACTLY the 24 hour mark (not a minute later) if you want your choice of seats on SW. Anything past the mid-Bs and you won't be able to be picky at all just to get 3 seats together

And if you want to REALLY be certain, pay the early check-in fee for one of you adults so you can save the row for the three of you

I agree.

I will say, stay away from the last few rows if possible. They are near the bathrooms and let's just say we learned our lesson the stinky way.

Don't you think if they can get seats outside the plane, the view will be (perhaps literally) astronomically better?

If you choose to buy EBCI, please buy one for each of your passengers. I was just on SW last week; seat sharing is not recommended.

Seat sharing is actually not allowed unless you're sharing with a child under 2.

Seat saving, though - that's something Southwest unfortunately will not take a stand on.
