I don't believe they will ask for the card, nothing is stated on it saying so, and you purchase the tix on-line, and then get your confirmation on line, so, but I believe you must join rapid rewards, which you can do easily. Also if you make any changes to the itinerary you will lose the 15%. At least that is what is stated on our card.

Wow, this worked out great! Thanks, Finfan. We actually had our SWA tickets booked already (we are Rapid Rewards members) and simply cancelled the old reservation which gave us funds available on SWA, then rebooked using the code and applied the funds from the cancellations! For our four tickets we rebooked at $74.53 less than what we had originally! Thank you very, very much. I love SWA and now I love you, too.

Just FYI I have used these types of codes before and have NEVER been asked for anything. I guess they target certian guests who get sent these discount codes. Thanks for sharing them!

Hmmm.. I don't know what to do. We have flights booked already on Southwest leaving 8.23 (Saturday) returning 8.31 (Sunday.) There are no good flights left on Sunday but the same flight we had is good on Monday 9.1. I would save $156 good for future credit on Southwest but have to pay for another night at WL probably about $115 if the AP discounts happen. What do you guys think?

I just checked and we actually paid $353 total so a difference of about $65. Not too sure I want to switch everything around. I was kind of looking forward to having that Monday to catch up on wash, etc.. before work. Another night at WL does sound nice though.

Ilovvefh, I am not sure, if you are not included also, my DH is the the only one who is a RR memberat the time we booked, but all 4 family members rec'd the 15% off each of our tix. Since he is going I naturally put him in and his #. Why don't you just sign have the other person call SWA and join immed. and then you can book them w/out any worry?

I already have our tickets booked on SW and when I checked online, the flights were unavailable. Is there some way to still get the discount? Is the money credit back to the credit card or is it just good for future SW flights? We don't fly much, so I don't know that getting the money for future flights would be much help. Thanks!

It depends on what type of ticket you bought. The least expensive, promotional fares with restrictions are normally non-refundable, which means you could only get credit toward another flight. If you bought the more expensive refundable kind, you can get the $ refunded to your credit card. Call 1-800-IflySWA with your confirmation number and they can tell you what you've got.

IloveFH, you actually don't even have to put a RR# in there at all so I'm sure the person who is the member can make reservations for someone else. I mean, I'm a member but my daughter isn't and I bought her ticket. The RR member doesn't get credit for the tickets they buy - only the actual person flying does. But the form where you put the code in asks for the code on the first page, and then calculates the fares from there, so I really don't think you even have to be a RR member to use the code. In fact, I'm sure of it. I cancelled my original reservations and rebooked using the code, and I know I did not put my RR# in on the last page where it asks for passengers. I know I didn't because I was freaking trying to get the new reservation set up before all the seats were gone. I'll just show my RR card when I check in.

the only way is to cancel and rebook. They will know when you made the reservations and this discount will not apply to flights booked before the release of the promotion code. It is also usually only applicable to the lower priced fares, not the more expensive ones.

as far as calling to have the discount applied--it won't work. atleast it didn't for me the two times I tried. It is an online specific discount--the only way to have it applied is to cancel and rebook using existing funds....it is very easy to do, but if the flight isn't available I'm not sure what you can do.
