OK probably a really dumb question but this is the first time with Southwest so I am a little clueless..my flights went down in price so I went on their site and did the whole change thing to get money back so just wondering if when I do that if it will bump my place in the whole early bird thingy I bought..I thought someone said it goes by who buys the tickets first essentially so if I change my flight today do I get bumped back down the chain

SWA says that EBCI starts checking in based on when the EBCI was purchased. However, there have been several instances cited on these boards where posters had two different reservations and purchased EBCI at different times for each but had the passengers with the later-purchased EBCI get lower boarding numbers. As a result, it's not really clear what's going on with regard to that.

IMO, any benefit that you might gain or lose based on EBCI purchase date would be minimal and I would not worry about it too much.

Thank you so much this def aliveates my concerns.
