Southwest Question

If you have booked round trip travel on Southwest, can you change one flight - like your departing flight? I have ressies for Sept. and would like to change our flight heading to Orlando to an earlier one. It is available. But would I have to cancel both the departing and returning flights then re-book both? Thanks.

I believe you have to cancel both they will tell you if you call it is better to rebook it online.

They cancelled my first reservation when I have made changes right on the phone, then walked me through booking online by applying my ticketless travel funds that were freed up when they cancelled for me.

It was instant so much less nervewracking than when I did it myself the other day. I did make sure that there was plenty of availability on both direction flights (by doing a search for 8 people when I only needed 4).

Call SWA, they have excellent customer service, no matter what you see on that TV show!

you should be able to go into Travel Center on the SWA website and choose Change Air Reservation

you then have to put in the confirmation number and credit card holder name...this brings up your itinerary from which you can check the flight you want to change....

then they take you to what is available for you to choose



in your case do not think you have to cancel and rebook.....

now if it was a regular fare you want to change to a ding fare....you will have to cancel and then use the ticketless funds to rebook

Thank you! I was able to do what you suggested, changed our PHL to MCO flight AND saved $120.00!!! I now have over $300 credit to use for our next trip. THIS IS AWESOME!!!!! Oh, and the other bonus is that we'll get to Orlando at 9am!!! A full day in DISNEY!
