Southwest please help me understand the numbers

So excited!!!! We fly out tomorrow for the world. We are flying Southwest for the first time and I printed our boarding passes this morning and I got all A boarding passes. There was also a number on there my husbands was 1 mine was 5 and our sons was 6. Is this the order we load in and do they really pay attention to those numbers or do we have to get in line to board no matter the number.

It's my son's first flight ever so I want it to be as smooth as possible so I want to look like I know what I'm doing LOL...

The number is the order people log on and print out the "A" passes I believe. It will not matter at the airport, only the order in which folks line up in the A line. And if you lose your boarding pass, SWA can reprint it, and then your number will have an R for reprint.

disneyczy - if you want to be able to relax as long as possible and look like you have done this a million times. Find out if your flight is a conecting flight - meaning if the plan is flying from say NH to NC and then on to FL. (you can call or ask when you get to the airport). If the flight is orginating from your airport, sit back relax, and people watch rather then standing in line, you have A pass's and even if your the last A on the plane, you should be able to sit with your son...
