Southwest is giving 50,000 points again

:lmao: yes we just went through that too. Save the link for the offer. I found that even though the offer wasn't around anymore, when I clicked on the link it worked!

So maybe you will be lucky.
Cross your fingers and hope for the best.
Good luck.

This may be a silly question, but I originally had a free Southwest Rapid Rewards account that I used for online shopping and things like that. There's only about 500 points in there. I opened up the credit card and the 50,000 points hasn't hit yet, but my question is do they sort of merge with any existing Southwest Rapid Rewards account/points or will they always be separate? I hope this makes sense! Thanks for any help! :goodvibes

How often does southwest offer the 50,000 promotion? Had this newest offer been out for awhile? I am stressing it as I need to close on the refinance before I can get another cc. Ugh! Closing isn't for another six weeks! Ahhhhhh!!!!!

Can anyone explain "partner point earning activity" I looked it up on southwest but do not know what this means:confused3

Thanks

You can earn rapid rewards points by purchasing items from partners of southwest. They have a wide variety of partners ranging from hotels to car rental agencies. They also have a huge array of retail partners that are quite popular. Just follow the link on southwests site to the retail site while logged into your rr account and you will earn points per dollar spent. I even did this for turbotax last year and received over 1,000 points (can't remember exact number). Hope this helps.

I just wanted to stop by this thread and say THANKS! I asked a few questions along the way and read a lot of helpful info on here!
I got my 50,000 points in my acct. over the weekend and booked my flights today. I did end up needing to buy $75 worth of points but it was still worth it for get flights for my family of 4!
My husband was skeptical at 1st but today while I was booking he was impressed!!:yay:

How long does it take the 50000 points to hit? We spent well over 2000$ in the first month. Our statement has closed, and they added the 2000 points for what we spent, but still have not added the 50000? Anybody have this problem?

Well I would call them then. Because they told me that our spending cyle ended on the 15th and that our info would post on the 18th and it did. I got the 50,000 points plus the 1,000 points for the amount I had spent. The points showed up in my acct. on the 18th and I haven't even gotten the bill in the mail yet.
It should have posted when the points posted for the money you spent.

Same thing happened to me! I have not received my bonus points but my statement is up.

Update: I called and the rep said it had to do with my statement closing date and the time of my purchases. So now my points will be on my next statement of Sept. 15! Ahh the suspense is killing me! I need to book my flights ASAP! Wish I had known that I literally had to spend $1000 as soon as I received my card even though I only had it a week before my statement closed.

We recently got this card and put 1000 on it quickly but we also signed up for a SW Rapid Rewards on their website before we got the card. We have not received our first statement but the 50,000 is in there already.

Mine hasn't posted either:confused3, but my statement has closed and the points from those purchases has posted. I'm hoping to get them by the next closing date.

We called and they said it should be there by the payment due date. Anyway- we will see. I wish I was lucky enough to get it early. We are not booking any flights yet, but I want it there so I don't have to think about it anymore.

I signed up for the CC and the 50,000 points shows up on my credit card account but when I sign in to my rapid rewards account the points are not there. Anybody else have this problem?

I signed up for it and to my surprise I was denied!! Turns out I am a victim of identity fraud and there were collection agencies looking for me!!! Called them up, cleared it up. They cleared it up now it will take 60 days to clear my credit!! I need to get those points by December at the very least. My vacation date is on December 19th. Ugh..frustration & sadness! I really don't want to pay $800+ for my tickets. DH applied and got his card already.. =( I hope this mess gets cleared up soon.

Can someone pretty please post the current link for me?

As well as answer this question, is it too late for me to get these points and book SWA for early DEC flights? Anyone have any helpful info for this scenario?

Ok found the link and figured out most of my question from reading back on the thread BUT can not figure out how to tell how many RRpoints my flight would take?

Can I do this "for pretend" and get all the way to the end and then just not apply the points like I do to find out airline ticket cost? or do I have to actually be a rapid rewards member to see this?

PS we would be flying into MCO from PHL and for the 4 of us I think our flights look to be approx $1000. Any math help greatly appreciated.

Just trying to see if this is the deal for us.

When you go to southwest's website on the left side of the homepage you put in your airport and dates and at the bottom of that section you can choose to show flights in points. Choose your flights on the next page and it will show you the points total used.

I paid about $1100 for my family of 4 to fly out of those airports for travel in 9 days. And the prices I booked at are still cheaper than what is available on their site now.
