Southwest is giving 50,000 points again

Does anyone know if the points expire?

While activating my card, I was told that as long as there is activity on the card within 24 months, points will NOT expire!

You can use your points to purchase tickets for other people but you can't transfer your points to another RR account. Would be nice if you could! My kids get the RR points for the flights they take but nothing else so the points aren't enough to use towards tickets or anything.

I signed up for this offer only a couple weeks ago. I was approved instantly and I already had the Disney Chase Visa so in only a few days, the account information was on my Chase account page. I got the card a couple days later, used it and then it closed on the 20th of November. Just a couple days later, the 50k points was in my account

My DH is going to sign up for a separate one as well - this is really worth the $69 fee! I fly Southwest all the time and am an A list member so I've used free flights on myself and my family and they won't expire as long as I'm active. Totally worth it!!

I too signed up for this promotion, as did my husband. We've been using the card, and paying it off weekly. We haven't seen any miles showing up yet though. They are having a great sale right now, I wish they'd show up so we could get our tickets for our July trip to Colorado!

Any update on whether or not you can have 2 SW Chase cards? What about if we were to cancel the ones we have and re-apply would that work. We did the 2 free RT flights in early 2011, paid the annual fee, got the credits, used the credits and I was going to cancel soon anyhow.

DH and I both have these cards, unfortunately the 50,000 points are on his credit card statement but not on the Southwest rewards website you can set up. Now I have to call, and of course- he doesn't want to- but he is the only one on that card. Do you think if he calls, and they verify everything(SS#), they will then talk to me to take care of it all- he hates dealing with anything like this.

Yes, my husband is the same way. I have to call and tell them that he doesn't like to handle these kinds of things and could they get his okay and then speak to me about it. They have always been happy to do this..

50,000 point option is back. Maybe it was always there, you just had to look for it. This is the $99 annual fee version.

I recently opened a SW rewards VISA, but the $99 fee / 50,000 reward points offer wasn't available, so I got the $69 fee / 25,000 bonus points. After seeing that the $99 fee / 50,000 points was available again, I called & they were able to upgrade my card, so I'll have an additional $30 fee, but I'll get an additional 25,000 points!

I got mine right away on the first statement after making one purchase

Southwest and AirTran merged as 1 airline. Can u use the southwest points to purchase flights on airtran? or only Southwest flights.

But this is soooooo tempting!

(would just about pay our entire airfare for our Sept trip!)
