I swear, it was not this complicated last year.

On the Select Departing Flight page, the outbound flight I want is listed as $89.

When I select that flight and continue on to the Air Itinerary & Pricing page, however, the flight price jumps to $99.70:

Base Fare $82.79 + Govt Taxes $16.91 = $99.70

Maybe I don't have enough caffeine in me, but I'm just not getting the disparity. Am I missing some fine print somewhere?

I know that taxes and govt fees are additional, but what I don't get is how the flight is priced at $89...which is neither the base fare nor the price inclusive of taxes and fees.

Any help in figuring out the logic here would be greatly appreciated.

Looking at my itinerary, what I'm seeing is that the base fare + the Excise Taxes = the fare they quoted me. They then add on the Segment Fee, Facility Fee and Security Fee giving the final total cost.

Ahhh...so that's what it was: the excise taxes.

Thank you for clearing that up for me.
