Southwest going and AirTran coming home?

Does anyone have any experience splitting their flight this way? Is DME ok with it? Prices are KILLING me in October lol. Thanks!
 
I did that last year and doing it again this year. I had no problems. Just keep in mind, that AirTran has baggage fees.

not if u book via SWA site, but then u cannot purchase seat selection
 
We did the reverse(AT down and SW back) for spring break and we're doing the same for Oct. Everything went well in March hoping for the same in Oct.:)
