Southwest Flights available NOW through Oct

We usually book a night at a Buffalo hotel prior to our stay. They include parking for the duration of your trip, breakfast, and a free shuttle to and from the airport. These are great prices, and I would book soon to get those rates. We usually fly back on the late flight, however, this year we have to be at work the next morning, so that is the reason for our earlier departure from MCO.

OMG thank you!! My HB screwed up and booked the wrong flight times. They're refunding it but now we wait in limbo til the room frees up on on CC. Grr... I have a feeling those rates will jump.

Considering we were going to pay $2000 to fly out of Pearson--I guess we do have some wiggle room :P

ETA: The non-stop is $981. That is tempting!! I wonder how my 3YO would do driving that late.

I booked late Oct PHL to MCO for the $127, on points, for me and DS. I expect it to go lower at some point, but not by that much. I like using the points, you just get them back with a price drop, no expiring credits to deal with.

Glad to read I'm not the only disappointed in flight times. We can fly out of CLE or CAK. No nonstop out of CLE and they changed to only one nonstop a day out of CAK. Times are okay but 6:45 AM is early when you live an hour from the airport

What part of Ohio are you in? Is Dayton an option?

We are west of Cleveland...Dayton is too far. :( Trying to decide Southwest out of Akron or Spirit out of Cleveland. Spirit ends up a little cheaper but I've not heard good things...

Thanks for the heads up OP. Just booked rt BOS to MCO for our Columbus Day weekend trip (still speculation but with SW points we can easily cancel if it doesn't work out). Used 23,182 points but hopefully I can catch a price drop/points drop between now and then. Last trip I managed to get 14K points back in price drops!

We're flying out of Hartford, but to Tampa for $101pp, one way. (Returning in November, so we have to wait). Hartford (BDL) to MCO was maybe $105-112pp, one way, but the flight times were lousy. 7:30am or 3:30pm. Not going to work for our 2 year old. Still very excited for those prices!

And I agree with the OP, the flight times were disappointing for me too. We like to fly down to Orlando mid-morning but there was nothing between 7:45 am and 2:25 pm on our travel date! We would have to change our dates to get a better flight time but I'm not sure I could do that now so I guess we're stuck with inconvenient flights at this point.

There is usually a nonstop flight home in the early evening and those no longer exist either.

I see the same problems for my flights. We used to fly down around 10-11 AM. This trip had to pick 2:30PM flight down. That was the first direct flight after 7AM. Coming home our early evening flight was gone, too. Had to pick 8:45 PM flight out of Orlando.

I like to snag the first flight out and get into MCO before 12. SW doesn't have any directs to MCO from BOS so leaving early is the only way to get there at a decent time and those flights are some of the best bargains. My other criteria is to avoid ATL connections whenever possible since I find it to be a big PITA. Of course we live only 20 minutes from BOS so being there by 5:20 for a 6am flight is not a big problem for us (and my DD is 12 so she can take it!).

well, that stunk!
Got up with the chickens to check new fares...Bingo. Decent fares-and times-I can live with!
..OK...get kids out, get ready for a funeral, skip lunch and sit back down at PC...
Uh Oh...What da heck? 40%/50% points increase! Two of the morning Non-stops disappear?! :badpc:

Geezzzzz...You'd think I would know better. :charac2:

First, somewhere I got the date of Feb 26 as the release date, I stumbled on the info by accident. I'm happy so far, only our outward leg is open and we got our preferred flight time for less than last year even with Early Bird thrown in, I'll be living the pic below by 11:30 am on Oct 29. Now for the rental car...

Had to book separate one-ways due to the craziness of this trip and combination of families, but prices were pretty good in and out of Nashville. EXCEPT for the return...$204pp unless we wanted to be at the airport at 5:30am. I'm watching that one for a possible change...

That was the original scheduled date, but it was moved up not too long ago.

We booked with points and did very well...

August: $96 one way and $101 coming back
October: $126 one way and $111 coming back

In and out of Providence - non-stops and exactly the times we wanted (we like the early morning flight going and the last flight coming home)

We were very happy campers today!!!

I have a hypothetical trip planned in October. I will only be going if I can find a friend willing to go with me. I looked at the flights today and the price is right (actually, about $50 less than I'd budgeted) but the times will really be hard on me. In order to fly non-stop, I will have to drive to FNT (about 90 minutes away) and the departure is before 7am. The non-stop return doesn't land until 10pm! I know some folks who would love that schedule, but here's the kicker....I work until 7pm the night before and have to be to work at 7am the morning after! I could probably handle leaving for vacation on minimal sleep, but getting home after midnight and having to get up at 5am to go back to work is not at all appealing.

You can do it! Last September we pulled into our driveway at about 2:30am after a 2 and half hour drive from the airport and I had to be at work at 8am. it was totally worth and I would do it again if I had to. Don't let a bit of sleep come between you and a great vacation! Enjoy!

I too was a little surprised by the flight times I kinda wanted mid morning but couldn't pass up the price out of Providence 6:45am direct for $96 and a 6:45pm flight home for $101.

Atlanta to MCO $109 each way, but I had to book a 6:50 am flight... which messed up my airport transportation (too early for public transport)

I was up at 8:00am booking my flights. I got 99 each way BUF to MCO, I booked the 8:00am departure and 7:45pm return times. My total for 6 people was 1327 including early bird check-in. By mid morning they had jumped to 115 down and 247 back! :scared1: I remember this happening last year when I booked for the same week, August 27-Sept 4. The prices seemed to stay in that range. So relieved to have this piece of my vacation planning behind me....:yay:

Yup ... time for my yearly F&W trip. I was able to lock in a decent $127 rate for PHL to MCO for 10/21. The price may drop a bit, but I doubt it. I prefer taking the earliest flight possible and sleep on the way down. I think I got a 6:30 AM departure which is fine by me
