I'm thinking of changing our flight on Southwest. We are currently scheduled to leave on the 6:15 a.m. flight from BWI on 8/13. I'n thinking of switching to the 6:20 p.m. or 8:00 p.m. flight on 8/12. We've purchased EBCI for our original flights. Would we have to purchase again if we change our flights? Also, would it mean that our EBCI boarding position would be further back than if we kept the original? Since we are SW newbies, we are not sure how EBCI boarding positions are assigned.

TIA :goodvibes

I changed my flights a few times last trip I took SW, and the EBCI stays with you. So if you bought it for your flight, and you change flights, you should still have it for your new flight.

If you cancel your flight and then rebook it though, you'll lose EBCI. Just change the flight and you'll be good though :thumbsup2

And I'm not sure about position. I can tell you though that we left from LAX (going to Orlando) and had a layover each direction. I think our highest boarding number with EBCI was A25.

Thanks for the info!
So glad to know that if we just change our flight, EBCI stays with us.

I spoke with SW about this same situation and was told if the flight change was within 25 hrs of the original flight EBCI would not be lost. I would call them just to be sure, they are very nice.

Thanks! I'm going to call to double check in the morning. :goodvibes

Also I think if you have to cancel your original flight and then rebook you will lose your EBCI, but since your just changing it. It should stay with you.

That's what I'm hoping.

I'm wondering if we'd get a later boarding position with EBCI if we change our flight since other flights connect in BWI.

I believe you will get a later boarding #. That was my experience when I did thatr on my trip to Vegas.

If I recall, A37. We still were ablve to get seats we wanted, in front of the wing.
