We've never flown southwest before and just applied for the credit card that is offering the companion pass for the rest of this year.

If the reservation is made on the same ticket, is it possible to purchase the early board check-in for both the main flyer and the listed companion so that we may board together?

I am assuming if we were on the same ticket, we would be checked in consecutively at 36 hours and have consecutive boarding numbers?

I would assume the same. Let me know if that is not the case.

When you do Companion Pass it would be on a separate reservation. You first book for you and then you go back in and book for your Companion. Unless something has changed and I've forgotten that it has.

Southwest just put out an offer this week for a $4,000 spend, you get a sign-up bonus of 30,000 points plus a companion pass for that expires on Dec 31st 2019.

My DH earned a companion pass last year. I have flown free with him a few times already. I make his reservation & there is a spot to add a companion. I get my own reservation number & yes, I can add EBCI to my reservation. Because it is a separate reservation, we get checked in separately. We have been a few numbers apart, with him getting the lower number. He prefers to board together, so he just stands back with me at my slot. The person with a lower number can always do that, you just can’t move up to board with the earlier number.
