Please refresh my memory...

Our SW flight leaves early next Friday morning. I have two separate reservations...my husband and DD on one and myself with other DD on other. One of the reservations has early bird check-in for both people, the other does not have early bird. At the 24 hour mark on Thursday morning what am I supposed to I do? Do I need to check-in the early bird check-in or just the two without early bird check-in? Do I also have to print boarding passes for all four of us?

I would do the all at the 24 hour mark so that you do not have to worry about it. Since it sounds like you just have two confirmation numbers it should not take long at all. You will ultimately need all four boarding passes, you can print at the 24 hour mark or print anytime after.

The reservation with EBCI will automatically check in at the 24 hour mark. You will need to manually check in the other reservation.

I would print your boarding passes then, if at all possible. The SWA phone rep told me they would reprint them for you at the airport without changing your boarding position, but it still makes me nervous. Anyway, it just saves time to already have them--just toss your luggage up there with your ID and pass, get a claim check, and head on your way.

The reservation with EBCI will automatically check in at the 24 hour mark. You will need to manually check in the other reservation.

One correction to the above is that the EBCI reservations will be checked in automatically at the 36-hour mark. You won't be able to see those boarding numbers until 24 hours before the flight, however.

My recommendation is to do the check in for the non-EBCI reservation at the 24-hour mark and print those BPs, then retrieve the BPs for the EBCI reservation and print those out.

Depending on your airport, having the BPs printed in advance may allow you to use an express baggage check-in line. If you have only carry-on bags, printing the BPs in advance will allow you to go straight to security when you get to the airport.
