I'm in a bit of a panic. Our flight leaves tomorrow at 7:10 AM. We're flying Southwest. I went to their web site at about 7:15 this morning to get our boarding passes printed. It's me, DH, DD5, and DD2 who are flying. Well it comes up saying that I can only get DD2's boarding pass. For the rest of us it says that we have to check in at the airport.

I call customer service, but she can't really help me - she puts me through to the security department. They say something about our names may have triggered something (she was very vague). Just said to checkin at the airport.

So I figured OK. DD2 is under 5 so we'll be able to pre-board. But now I'm reading that they don't always do this especially with Orlando since everyone has kids.

I'm getting very nervous that we won't be able to sit together. I don't care if we are all together, but I would like 1 parent with 1 child. I just went back online and printed the boarding pass for DD2 figuring we could all board when she boards, but now she is at "B".

What are my chances that we can each sit with a child?

Just relax.

1. Once you get the name issue sorted out, all 4 of you will be able to pre-board together (because of the little one). Keep in mind that the row only has 3 seats on each side of the aisle, so you will then split up 2 and 2 or 3 and 1 (one person on the other side of the aisle) anyway.

Do get to the airport as early as possible, just to be safe. If, for example, your airport is suggesting arriving two hours in advance, make it three. This way, you'll have time to straighten out the security issue without panicking.

First thing to try. Get to the airport early. If the inability to print boarding passes was due to a security issue (probably is) you could get to the gate so late that even having an A pass does no good.

Second thing to try., Ask the gate agent if you can preboard based on the security issue and inability to print a boarding pass in advance (don't mention the 5yo yet).

Third thing to try. Get into the B line. Hold all the boarding passes together with the B pass on top.

If you want to be absolutely sure that you can preboard, then bring your carseat for the little one. Using a carseat on board guarantees you the right to preboard because there are restrictions on where it may be placed.

You will be fine and yes they let you preboard at MCO ( sometimes they only let 1 adult with each child 4 and under so 1 +dd2 will be Ok ( if not many preboarders they will let you all go ).

Print boarding passes for return trip at the front desk.( I checked us in Sat night at 8:00 while in line for BTMRR 3 different confirm #'s)

If you really want to make sure you sit together just head to the back of the plane and you will be fine.

Have a great trip

You are probably already in bed!

Relax! Just get to the airport early.. agree with previous poster.. shoot for 2 1/2-3 hrs early. Its probably an issue with a name that is similar to someone else's that shouldn't be flying.

* Just remember ID, and to have a magical vacation! :wizard:
