Southwest As A Participating Airline

Does anyone know what makes certain airlines decide to participate? Is there anything we can do as a people to help move this along; emails to company, etc...

Are you assuming that only participating airlines can use ME?

Or do you really want to have in-resort luggage check? That's all you get from a participating airline that is different from other airlines.

I don't have enough of a problem schlepping my bag to the airport to be sending anybody emails.

SWA is a major sponser at SEA WORLD, I think that may have something to do with them not being a participating airline.
But, that really is no big deal. You can check in at any Disney resort or guest services at the parks 24 hours in advance of your flight. You only need to bring your bags to the pickup point at the resort and only need to handle your bags at the airport. That really is not a lot for a free ride and inbound service.
SWA does not accept emails. You would have to use snail mail.

You can send a letter to SW. Companies in general respond better to mailed letters and SW doesn't accept email.

The check-in service is actually provided by Bags Inc, not the airline itself.

FYI - if you want to check in to get the better boarding pass (A), you can check in at the front desk. I was at POP, and just went up to the front desk with my Confirmation # and he printed out our passes for us. We still had to check our bags, but it took MUCH less time to get through everything at the airport.
