Flying out of Long Island New York. Southwest only have two or three direct flights to Orlando. These flights are always booked to the max.

Even through you check in at the 24 hour plus 2 seconds you always get B 20. At B 20 something we have no problem finding seats together. JUST wondering, would it be worth it to pay the extra $22 and do "Business Select" you get an A boarding, Fly BY [priority lane at security checkpoint] Premium Drink [$5] and extra rapid rewards point.

So do you think it worth it, am I reading something wrong? Has anyone done this? Thank you for any help

Don't think I've ever seen business class only $22 more. I think it would be worth it if A boarding passes mean a lot to you I don't much care where I sit and SWA sends me free drink coupons all the time so I always have some.

As someone who usually flies SW out of Islip also, it's incredibly frustrating how they've cut the number of flights to MCO by more than half from what they had a handful of years ago. As you said, the flights are always fully booked - and at higher prices than they charge for flights from most other airports. Which is why it's been so baffling why they keep reducing flights in/out of ISP.

If u can get business class for $22 then absolutely. I fly out of ISP to MCO and never saw it only $22 more but that would be a great deal especially since they charge $12.50 for wary bird. So for $10 U earn more pts and get a free drink

I've never seen business select with a such a small difference from lower fares. It's usually quite a bit higher....like hundreds! If its only $22 more, jump on it!

$22 is the difference between anytime fare and business select. Wanna get away is the lowest priced fare.

Another flyer out of Islip and I agree use to be sooo many direct flights to Orlando ....and non stops to ft Myers where my son lives ...now unfortunately non....don't understand why the flights use to be fully booked back then too...
If the op is deciding between anytime and business select..I would buy business select ...For a $22 difference it's worth it

I wonder if Islip is getting pressure to reduce it's flights. I read a while ago that the New York City metro airports (JFK, Newark and LaGuardia) are at an airspace premium. There are too many flights out of New York for the amount of airspace and they've had some near misses. Could be that Islip has been told to reduce the number of flights and that's why there are fewer. Plus Southwest is the only major airline to fly out of Islip.

The extra rapid rewards points would make the $22 worth it even without the other perks. I had to make a last-minute reservation a few mos ago and the web site said that business select was the best deal at the time. I don't remember the price difference but it wasn't much, and it was nice to board right after the wheel chair people. And now I have enough points for a free flight.

I don't think that has anything to do with it. It's simply SW making some curious decisions. Islip has been pushing hard to increase the flights in and out of MacArthur and trying to attract other carriers. It would have made some sense if SW was replacing the ISP flights with new ones out of LGA in the slots they obtained from the Airtran takeover, but they haven't.

and BTW...$22 seems to be the standard difference between the "Anytime" fares and "Business Select", so I don't think the OP was seeing that difference between the "Wanna Get Away" fares and "Business Select".
