Southwest Air Sale

I checked Ding and SW this morning and saved $90 off my original flights!! :cool1: Even got better times/days that I had to begin with!

In the last week I have $165 on my trip between FL resident codes (BIL going with us) and SW sale. :teeth: :Pinkbounc  :flower: :bounce:
DH just laughs every time I call him and tell him how much I save...lol! :rotfl:

I started a new thread, but just in case wanted to let everyone know that Delta has matched Southwest's fares in some cities. I assume other airlines will follow.

I was able to lower my flights that I just booked this weekend. Saved $240.00 -- albeit via credit with SWA... As soon as DH got home, I jumped up and down and told him... when I explained it was for a SWA credit... he said, "Oh, I see where this is going..." (money for airfare for another trip maybe???)

Thanks so much for posting this!!!!!!!!!!!

You can usually receive that credit back from Southwest.

Last year....we booked from New Orleans roundtrip to Orlando for $130 roundtrip. When they released $39 fares, I called and they gave me the cheaper fare and credited my SWA account for the difference.

Then...I learned through this board....that you could write a letter to SWA asking for your SWA credit to be credited back to your credit card. It takes a few weeks...but, you get your money back.

I don't have all the information...but, I'm sure if you call SWA they can give you the address and tell you what information needs to be included in the letter to get your money back.

I would highly recommend Southwest. We got $39 one way airfares from Baltimore to Orlando in January this year which meant for our family of four we paid just under $400 to fly to Disney!!! It was such a deal, especially after we had decided to drive thinking the airfare was too high.
We had never flown Southwest before. I really liked their "no assigned seats" system. I was able to check in really early in the morning online before we even left home so we had A boarding passes. A passes board first, then B, then C - which basically just divides the passengers up and makes an easy system. But that way we got to decide how our family of four would sit rather than the airlines seperating us rows apart as they have done before.
So if you can get these great rates - take advantage of them!!!

Never mind - I found the specials and they are not available for my dates. I'm glad to see that someone was able to take advantage of them though!
You might check the matching airlines. I saw that the Delta fares for my trip go through August 3 (SW's stop in June I believe).

:confused3
Be Very Careful, when you are ALL EXCITED and changing your itinerary on the internet. I am so UPSET with myself right now. Thought I was doing a good thing by getting $20 back on each ticket (4). Only to discover last night, that I clicked on the wrong return time. Cost myself a whole day. I was originally coming back on the late flight (wanted to see the lights @ Tampa airport @ nite) Well, being all excited I clicked the flight that leaves at 6:55 AM. WOW, I could kick my own butt right now. Messed it up for 3 other people also, not just myself. I did find a cheaper flight coming back with Airtrans, but Southwest can only credit me the return funds (which doesn't help me). They are good for 1 year, but I don't think I will be able to afford to do another trip before Jan 2006. They are transferable, but not sure how or whom to do that with either. I wish, I would have left my hands off :badpc: . I would gladly give back the refund, that I am getting, in exchange of my original times. Southwest is now booked for my dates, well unless I want to spend $164 now, per ticket....NOT!!!!!
Sorry, just had to rant a little. My fault totally. But doesn't make me feel any better. I am really really bummed out about this. So BE VERY CAREFUL, when making changes.

SFLINCH...
Did you try to go in and change your itinerary? Sometimes you can do so and change the date and time with a nominal change fee... but I'm not sure. I know I had orig. changed my time from a 10 a.m. flight to a 6 p.m. flight... only for the same day... and was not charged any difference. If the flight you want is booked, maybe you can stay one day longer... OR is there a flight in between so at least you don't have to get up so darn early?

MINMATE....
Yes, I tried all the above. Thanks for your suggestions though. The problem is I am Flying out this Monday the 21st. So everything for Southwest is booked for 3 days before and 3 days after, my scheduled trip. They do have seats left on one, that has a layover and a plane switch (for $164 per person). But I am taking my wheelchair bound sister with me, and this would be way to much on her to switch planes and a layover. She is physically and mentally challenged. Trying to make it a pleasent experience for her. Plus the jump in the airfare is more then I can afford at this time. Maybe for 1 it would not be bad, but I have to times it by 4.
Thanks for trying to help me......I CREATED a HUGE mess!!! :guilty:

So sorry this happened to you Sandi. I hope everything goes well when you fly!

Thanks poohj80...

But hey, I am still going to Disney World!!!! :cheer2:
7 Days till I arrive!!! :cool1:

I just rebooked my trip for may, baltimore to orlando, we have to come back on an earlier flight, but we saved $180! Yippie. Now to plan a new vacation to spend it on....

Minnie1928, I just read your post.
So, someone else can use your credit?

Maybe I'll sell it to my dad for the same trip. Then I can have the money to use for this trip.
