South Beach Dieters......... Unite

I'm back! Wow, this thread has gotten big since I "left." I lost 35 pounds on SBD, got pregnant with my third, gained 55 pounds (yikes), amazingly lost 20 pounds easily, and am now in the exact same spot I was in when I started two years ago! Anyway, the baby is now weaned, and I am ready to lose the weight. I am on Day 6 of Phase 1. So far, no cheating, but today I wanted a bite of my son's bagel so I decided it was time to come back to the WISH boards! It was so encouraging to me last time. I'll try to check in frequently. I think I have only been on the computer a total of three times since my son was born ten months ago. Good luck everyone and thanks for the encouragement!

K'K's mommy, welcome back!!! As you can see, yes we are still growing and growing and growing. We seem to be doing so well. Congrats on the baby!!!!!!!! We are here for you whenever you need us!!!

Hi guys, did pretty well yesterday did not eat any of the ice cream after mini golf with special olympics. But I did eat some gold fish but I figured that was better than a sundae.

Sheree your my hero!

Finally into that part of Phase 1 where I don't want bread or sugar. Thank goodness for that. And I am not starving all the time. Whew! Can't wait to weigh in tomorrow, looking for that second number on the scale to have gone down.
Hope all is well with everyone else. Keep up the good work! :cheer2:

Melissa, isn't that wonderful!!!!! Keep up the good work!

Have a great Tuesday everyone :sunny:

We're on week 6 of the SB. I thought all of my cravings were gone until yesterday. I turned the aisle of the grocery store and what did I see..........Halloween Candy!! I had to keep telling myself, "I will not buy it, I will not buy it!"

I must be a seasonal eater. ;) Is there such a thing? Now that the weather has turned cooler in the mornings I find myself thinking more of food! Anyone else?

I think I'm going to need a lot of self control to still lose through the winter! I can DO IT. :teeth:

Lori

Lori, LOL a seasonal eater. I find that I want more soups and stuff, but that's it. I've kicked the sugar habit for good I think. I'm so glad to see you hanging in there. I will not eat candy, I will not eat candy! See, I'm helping you out ;)

I would agree with being a "seasonal eater". That was how I got back in the hole, all the summer goodies at the seashore. Fries with vinegar, soft serve, crabs in melted butter. But I am back on track and determined to fight off the cravings. Especially all the fall stuff like pies, stew with potatoes, mashed potatoes, anything potato....mmmmmm.Sorry got off track there. Hang in there, we all have our cravings to fight. You aren't alone and remember, nothing tastes as good as thin feels. You can do it! :cheer2:

Thanks Melissa,

On a happy note, today I back into a pair of jeans that I couldn't wear last winter. :thewave:

I lost a half a pound. Not much but at least I am still moving in the right direction. Is it really cheating if a two year old sticks a cheeto in your mouth? Hard to explain to them that cheetos aren't SB approved. :rotfl: Anyway, other than a terrible cold- I feel great about Phase 1. Tomorrow is the end of week one. One week to go, and 13 1/2 lbs to go to goal.
Best to all on the Beach.

Is everyone getting sick??? I've got a cold too. Been in bed the last 2 days. I'm feeling absolutely misarable. I hate being sick more than anyone can imagine. Doesn't my body know that I don't have time for a cold????????????

Hey Sheree, sorry to hear your sick, it happens every year, no sooner does school start that everyone gets sick.

Frankly I don't see why Cheetos aren't on SB, there cheese aren't they?

nope, I checked. Not approved on the list. Darn shame too!

Finally...more progress!

I lost 4 pounds in Phase 1, week 1...then nothing, noghting, nothing. I was doing GREAT on Phase 1 and exercising a lot. I was so frustrated that I was really about to quit.

Then yesterday I finally noticed some genuine loss. I am not getting on the scale just yet b/c I tend to obsess about the numbers. So right now I am going by hoe my clothes fit. Pants that didn't fit last week TOTALLY fit today :) SO that definitely make me happy. And I can tell by looking in the mirror.

I'll be starting Phase 2 on Monday...

What was everyone's FIRST phase 2 food?

A banana! With really cold milk....mmmmm....

After 3 weeks of being on Phase 1, and no sugar, that banana tasted incredible.

So hey, I'm happy to report that I'm down another 1.5 lbs. That makes a total of 27.5 lbs. Woo hoo! :cool1: I don't think I'll make my goal of 170 for my cruise in October, but that may have been too ambitious. I'm at 182.5 now. I really wanted to wear something swanky for formal night, but it'll have to be swanky probably not at 170.

Way to go 3disneykids !! It's not all about the scale !

Congrats Florida Mom on your continued progress !

My first venture into phase 2 was a bowl of cereal....I love my cereal in the morning ..... sure it wasn't my Frosted Mini Wheats, but after 2 weeks w/o it even All Bran and Uncle Sam's tasted pretty good :)

I saw Halloween candy too! I'm not going to buy it until much closer and get only what I think I will need.

I lost 5 pounds the first week of Phase One. I just have 3 days left of Phase 1. I think my first food might be an apple. I wanted to bite into one today when I was cutting one for my kids!
