South Beach Dieters......... Unite

Jeremy, that's awesome! Congratulations!

I'm happy to say that I made it to 30 lbs. lost! I think this is the most I have ever lost and it's so wonderful. Today, for the first time in a looooong time, I was able to put on my Liz Claiborne jeans that I love. :cool1:

Thanks, everyone, for being so inspirational. :goodvibes

:cheer2: :cheer2: Florida mom, wtg!!!!! I love being able to wear those clothes (I'm a clothes horse ya know!) Congrats and keep up the good work :cheer2: :cheer2:

Congrats to all the "losers"!!! WTG! I am finally back, went off program due to health issues.
Everyone- Please remember to drink your water. LOTS of water. The consequences are painful!! I will never be without a bottle of water, no matter how stressful or hectic life gets.
Now DH and I began Phase 1 together, today. I want to get that full 2 weeks without cheating if it kills me. In all my attempts I have never done it totally cheat free. Send me all the no cheating vibes you can folks. I am determined to have the weight off for my cruise. I need 15 off. I am joining the gym tomorrow. DS is going to go with me for moral support.
Here we go again, hopefully for the final time:
Phase 1, Day 1- so far so good. Pushing the water and eating my salads. Lots of salads.
I think I am going to keep a food journal this time. Perhaps that will be the key to not cheating. OH, and I am only weighing in ONCE a week. If I lose, I think I can cheat and be ok, If I don't lose, I cheat to make myself feel better. Its a vicious cycle. But I'm going to break it.
Keep all your encouraging weight loss successes coming. It really helps.
Congrats again to all of you. Keep it up! :cheer2:

No cheating Melissa!!! You can do a two week clean beginning!! You won't regret it. Let us know everyday if you can how you are doing!!!

 Hi, everybody! Congratulations on everyone's losing! Jeremy -- that is awsome! Neverlandclub -- you go girl!

I just wanted to let you guys know that I've lost 3 more pounds. It's going very slowly, but at least it's going! :cheer2:

I still have about 29 more to go to get where I want, but I really think I can do it!!! I read here alot, don't post too much, but get alot of inspiration from you guys. Thanks!

wickey's friend, reading here is just fine by us. I hope that we are giving the kind of information and support that you might need!

WTG :dancer: :dancer: 3 lbs is awesome!!!

Well, I found us on page two. How is everyone doing? It's been pretty quiet around here, and I just thought I'd check up on everyone!

Well I've been pretty good all last week. I think starting a new job helped keep my day very structured. Of course was bad on Fri and Sat but not the whole day. Been trying very hard to stay the course!

Hi All.
Everything is going OK here. Still maintaining my weight loss (Actually drifting down slightly). Not quite sure when I want to get back into serious weight loss mode again. I was out of town for the weekend. I went to my sisters and me, my brother and brother-in-law went to Kings Island on Friday evening. We went through the haunted houses for Fear Fest and rode a few rides. We all decided it took more than what they were doing to scare us any more.

S&K'sMom I know what you mean about having a structured day helps you. I seem to do better when I'm fairly busy with planned activities. Otherwise, I get into the mindless eating.

Hi, guys! I'm down another pound -- that's 14 altogether. I'm ready to grab that 15 lb clippie soon I hope!

I know I do better on work days than the weekend, so structure is better for me too.

I don't think I've ever lost 15 pounds before -- this is great! I know I'd go faster if I'd exercise more and be a little stricter with the SB, but so far, keeping as close as I can to SB and not going overboard when I stray a little is working, so I am going to stick to i! :cool1:

wickey's friend How Awesome!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Doesn't it feel good!!! We are still :cheer2: :cheer2: you on so that you can make it to where you want to be!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend. I had a darn busy weekend. My kids school had a fall festival and boy was I busy, but had so much fun! I just was checking in and seeing how everyone is doing. Let us know when you have the time!

No I was very naughty over the weekend but got right back on. I think I'm where I want to be, just need to shift certain part of me!

Well, I admit that I am struggling. I had absolutely NO PROBLEM on SBD when I did it the first time around. Lost lots of pounds quickly and easily, was never hungry, etc. I told everyone I know how it was the perfect diet. I went on maint. for a while, and started to gain again, so now I'm back working the plan again, but...

I find that I am constantly struggling to stay on the plan. Not sure what is going on. I only need to lose about 10 more pounds, so I am committed to exercising and that seems to be going well, it is just the food part...NOTHING sounds good to me, so I end up snacking instead of eating properly, etc. Most of what I snack on is at least SBD-approved, but not everything, I must admit.

Today is Monday, so I'm back on. I will try phase 1 just for one week to get me back in check. I'll try to report in daily...maybe it will help keep me honest!

I think that's what makes it so hard. I realized early on that if I was going to do it, I was not going to allow myself to even be tempted! I couldn't. I guess that's why now even though I'm in maint., I don't eat everything. I pretty much stay in a Phase 2. I knew that if I started adding any of those foods back (carrots, potatoes, chips and reg. sugar and such) that it would mess me up and I would be out of control. I have sworn off those foods permantly! I know you're thinking, she's crazy, but I found that is what ending up working for me. I now find so many subs for all those foods, well except for fries and chips, which aren't appealing to me at all! Pasta is the only thing I have allowed my self to have and I haven't had that in almost 7 months! Popcorn is a tough one and try to get a small bag when I go to the movies. However I feel so sick afterwards, it's almost not worth it. I feel so much better this way. Now don't get me wrong, I eat. As a matter of fact, I eat a lot, but I eat lots of veggies and those good meats. I have found a wonderful lower carb whole grain bread that is excellent and I love the low carb tortillas more than I like the reg. ones! Go figure. I know you all can do it, it's just a matter of tweaking the diet for you. If you know that certain foods make you gain, then don't eat them. Find a substitute. It will help keep you on track. I can eat that 3 minute chocolate cake everynight with some whipped cream and never miss any of that other stuff. Let me know if there is anyway I can help, any advice to give, receipes or anything else like that!

Thanks for the encouragement. I actually don't have a problem with potatoes, etc. (I've sworn them off for good, too, and don't miss them a bit). I do fine snack foods hard...I like to be able to nibble on something (like pretzels) and have not been able to find a subsitute for that. I,too, have a good low carb whole-grain bread and tortillas. I think the real problem is that I have not yet figured out what phase 2 foods are causing me to gain. Any thoughts?

And the 3 min. choc. cake? Recipe please...this sounds great!

Two products that have made this so much better for me is almond flour and carbquick flour. you can buy both online from a store called netrition. I have learned to make almond flour pound cakes and so many other things with almond flour. I use it in place of reg. flour in other receipes. I also love DaVinci syrups. I use those all the time too!! Sometimes like in the 3 minutes chocolate cake receipe, I use vanilla flavored DaVinci syrup for some of the splenda and what a wonderful flavor. Another good thing to keep around is flaxsseed (ground) meal. It packs a lot of fiber in and it also helps make some really great foods. If some of you want, I started a word document and started putting some really good receipes in it. I really have tried to make this work and except for TOM I don't gain anything. I eat reg. meals. except I usually skip breakfast!! Bad I know but even before this I've never really eaten breakfast. I love a good salad with grilled chicken and I know he doesn't endorse it I use full fat ranch. I do keep my carb count low. I know it isn't about counting carbs, but when I eat to much or stick to his list in phase 2 I gain. So I added a food here and there that I thought I might like to eat. I also wouldn't eat grains everyday or even everyother day. At the beginning of the thread, Lisa realized that eating to much bread even whole bread to often made her stall or gain. It does that to me too, so I try for twice a week and the rest of the time is meats and veggies!!!!
Ingredients -
1/4C Almond flour 2 carbs
1 T Cocoa Power 1
1/4 t Baking Power 0
5 packets of Splenda 5

2 T Melted Butter 0
1 T Water 0
1 Egg 0.6

In a 2 Cup Pyrex measuring cup...yeah, I made it in a the glass measuring cup, blend all dry ingredients. Add water, melted butter and egg...mix throughly.

Cover with plastic wrap (To vent, cut small slit in center of plastic wrap.) Or cover with another plate Microwave on high for 1 minute (I microwaved for 1 minute 10 seconds...you need to adjust as you think is right)

Cool a bit, eat warm with whipped cream or cool completely to ice cake. This could serve at least 2 people, maybe three. When this comes out of the microwave, it looks a bit wet but drys as it cools. Cake without icing is 8.6 carbs. The person who sent it to me frosted it with a combination of Twist and Cream Cheese mixed together.

Thanks for this recipe--I'll try it out as soon as I get some almond flour. Do you think they sell this at a health food store?

Yes they do. I have also brought some at target. It is pricey, though, but well worth it.

My 15 pound clippie!!!!! Yep, another pound gone.

sm4987 -- I love the low carb tortillas too. I put just about anything in them. Yum!

I do admit to missing fries and onion rings though. :teeth:

3Disneykids -- I like red and yellow bell pepper strips to snack on. And, the Laughing Cow light cheese cubes -- yummy! And, I know you have to expend a calorie or two unwrapping the individual ones, lol.
