South Beach Dieters......... Unite

Welcome Back Melissa. I was wondering what happened to you!!! I know that you can get it off. You did so well, and it's just a matter of determination and you'll be back before you know it.

Welcome back, I make a regular habit of falling off the beach!

Thanks for welcoming me back! Thanks for the kind words, Sheree. I need all the support I can get. I have 70 days until vacation. I did very well yesterday. No cheating. So now 13 days of Phase 1 left. I am sure I can do it. I bought some wonderful fish and other goodies to stay on program. My grill really helps out, too.
I am really pushing the water this time. I notice that makes a big difference.
Hope everyone has a great Beach day!
I am weighing myself every other day so I will check my weight tomorrow.

I just got back from the real beach... Outer Banks, North Carolina. Great time but my eating was way off the beach! Can anyone say Key Lime Pie, cornbread and hush puppies???? I love the stuff. So, back on the scale when I got back and the damage was nil! I can only believe this is because of all the extra exercise. I would go for a 30-40 minute walk each morning on the beach which is hard on the legs. Then swimming and extra pounding by the waves! However, I feel off eating all the junk. (I know I have said this before). So back to phase II today. I had planned on going on Phase I because I thought the scale would hit me hard, but it seems like Phase II will work for now. Need to grocery shop. I was reading yesterday about how discipline only works so far... you need to plan to eat right... by buying the right stuff to have on hand and asking the waiter to keep the cornbread off the table!

Good luck Melissa!!!

Welcome back Calena. Glad to hear you had a wonderful trip.

I can't wait to hear both of your progress!

My name is Melissa and I am a double loser- first because I cheated on Phase 1, again. I may never get through 2 weeks. So I am starting Phase 1 again, at Day 1, tomorrow. Second, despite the cheat, I did lose 2 lbs.
So, here we go again. I will do this. I will do this. I just need to be better prepared. I am going back to all the tricks that helped last time. Cutting up my veggies and having them handy to grab. Instead of the potato chips I grabbed without even thinking about it. Ugh.
I am going to up my excercise and move my stationary bike to my bedroom.
I am DETERMINED to be done with this dieting before cruise time. By then I hope I will hate sweets and have no problem staying on program. Throw some pixie dust my way! I need all the help I can get.

:wizard: Melissa, just jump back on it. I know it's hard, and we all make mistakes and bad choices. Just remember how much better your body felt when you were following all the rules. Think about how you want to look on that cruise. It will come, hang in there!!!!!! :wizard:

Had a great week, BUT...

Ok, things are going well...I am definitely back on track and getting ready to finish Phase I.

I had one small slip the other day (piece of coffee cake...I can't believe I ate it--it was bizarre--I didn't even think about it and next thing I knew I was eating the last bite!)...did the rest of the day perfect and no other slips throughout the week.

Any thoughts on how much this affects Phase I? Should I do a few extra days of Phase I just to make sure that the sugar is out of my system?

Also, anyone who want to chime in on the best ways to transition into Phase 2...that would be great!

I would do a couple of extra days. As far as going into phase 2 go at it slowly. Add back some some berries and a very little whole breads. It will do wonders. Keep up your protein and veggies. Don't forget to drink plenty of water. Also add in some exercise if you haven't already. It will help the weight loss!

I did a sort of phase 1.5 and didn't add the bread back for weeks. I started by adding some fruit, but never more than one a day. Then gradually I did a fruit and a grain of some kind. Now I'm solidly on phase 2 (I've lost 26 lbs so far) and have probably two whole wheat bread servings a day (pita or whole weat english muffin) and at least one fruit.

Good luck!

First and foremost Melissa you are not a loser. You are a person trying to change your lifestyle. The fact that you keep giving it a try shows how determined you are. We are all fabulous, wonderful people. Food is a very hard thing to control I myself constantly lose the battle with cheese doodles.

As for Phase II well I'm ok on it. I haven't really cheated but I think I like where I am and I definately feel so much better not eating all that junk. But boy I'm so tired this week. Just exhausted from unemployment I guess!

Hi all
Everything is still going OK here. I'm still maintaining my weight loss where I am. Considering I went out for Amish Cooking with a group from the Church last Saturday and then went to a potluck picnic on Sunday, that's all I could hope for. I just made my airline reservations for my December trip. I am going December 7 to the 16 and staying at OKW except for the weekend when I'm going somewhere near Universal. I got a DING fare of $92 round trip from CMH to MCO with tax included. That's about the lowest fare I've ever paid.

Sherree' - When are you going in December. I see you are also staying at OKW. Maybe we can meet up and say hi one evening.

Melissa - Welcome Back and congratulation on the 2lbs lost.

3DisneyKids - Like Florida Mom said, I also did almost a Phase 1.5 for a while as a transition to phase 2.

s&k'smom - Glad to hear you are transitioning to Phase 2 so well. Hopefully your energy level will increase soon.

Thanks for the kind words. Feeling much more in control today. I have been very good today and I intend to work out tonight. I've really missed my Pilates, and the nice tight tummy it gave me.
Best wishes to everyone. :cheer2:

Jeremy, I'm going the week of the 11th. Taking the kids out of schools so we can go and enjoy Disney!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stay encouraged everyone. This is a lifestyle change. We won't be perfect all the time, because life is not perfect!

Yessss!! If only I had been on program all week without starting over I may have done even better. But, as of this morning, I have 4 1/2 off and 15 1/2 to goal. :cool1: I will be dancing on the Disney Magic in my skinny clothes. I am going to do so well this weekend, nothing can stop me.
I need to remember to eat my snacks and not skip breakfast, I do have problems with that.
Oh it feels so good to be back on the beach.
I will be treating myself to chocolate souffle in Palos in no time.
Best to all on the Beach for a great weekend.
:cheer2:

  Melissa, wtg!! Isn't it amazing the results you get when you stay true to the plan!!!!!!!

I was looking over the entire thread since I started it. I have watched so many people come and go. I hope they still read this thread and see that even if you fall off, you can always come back and make it. I realize that I am now the only one that still checks in since the beginning. Maybe I should stop! :confused3 Just kidding. I'm loving this too much, plus it keeps me accountable. Now on the plan for over a year and a half. So many people give me so much mouth when I tell them how I eat, however being 60 pounds lighter (I have kept it off consistently since Oct. of last year) I don't really care what they think about me anymore. This is a plan that works for me. I really find that if I stay away from most frakenfoods, I do really well. I've learned how to make healthy natural choices for myself. All of this reflection stems from the fact that me b-day is Wed. and I'll be 31. I remember last year just waiting to hit goal for my 30th birthday and now I'm 7 pounds under that goal and haven't gained anything. I'm impressed with myself :goodvibes

WTG Sheree !!!! Happy Birthday in advance !

I've lost 47 lbs since January and I feel great.....I still have 8 more to go to get to my goal......I've been gaining and losing the same 2 lbs for the last 2 months but I've been a little lax in sticking totally to plan too....let's just say I've been enjoying the treats that summer has to offer ......so if I do that within reason and I'm still maintaining what I've done so far I'm not going to complain ...... going to try and get back on track now to lose the final 8 !

Have a great weekend !

And I am impressed with you! I want to be a goal and stay there by my 15 th anniversary next April. Congrats on all of your hard work. You inspire me and I am glad you are still here! We need your wise words and encouragement.
If any one gives you a hard time about SB, tell them it is recommended by heart doctors. My dad has heart disease and his doc's all told him to go on SB. IF only he would do it. I feel great. SB is after all not low fat or low carb, simply better eating habits with good carbs and good fats. Keep inspiring us Sheree and Congrats again!!! :cheer2:

Thank you everyone. I love the thought of helping others. I know everyone can do it, especially if I can!!!

Sheree, happy birthday and thank you for starting this thread! It has probably been the most important tool in keeping me on track. You all are so inspiring! And knowing that there are real success stories out there makes me think that I can do it, too. Lately it's been great getting the compliments about my weight loss (and I'm only 1/3 of the way there!) I can't imagine how I'm going to feel when I'm 2/3 of the way there, and then at goal!
