I also weighed in today and I am down 1 pound for the week. That brings me to 29 lost. I really want that last one pound gone so that I can snag my 30 pound clippie. Keep pushing me on everybody.

leanne2255, I don't know how I missed your post. That 10 pound clippie looks great. Keep up the good work :cheer2: :cheer2:

I see that you have only 6 more days until your trip. I am sure you'll be able to claim that 30 lb clippie before you go!
 
To give you an idea of what kind of good time that conference was, consider this. There were Microsoft Certified Trainers from all over the world there, and we correspond with each other every day like the folks here do. Imagine meeting a large group of folks from here on the disboards, and you have an idea of how much fun it can be. I saw friends from New Zealand, Australia, Belgium, Germany, Canada, Brazil, the UK, Ireland, Holland, and all points of the US.

One particularly funny note: We were going to the conference attendees party at Sea World on Thursday night. There were about 30 of us that met before hand in the hotel lobby, and we pretty much stuck together all evening. When the bus pulled in, my friend Kim said "Mine?" like the seagulls from "Finding Nemo." In seconds, we all picked up on it and did a fair imitation of the gulls. The best part was when the Shamu show ended and as we stood to leave the Whale Stadium I said "Beer?" - and they all joined in. I wish I could have recorded it - it was hilarious.

Yeah. I am so happy. Thanks everyone for the encouragement and support. This is to wonderful for me. I have 22 pounds left till goal. I am goona do this.

I hope to get my weight down by another 5 lbs before I leave. I did so good this weekend. I made "unpotato" salad and it was soooooo good. My kids actually loved it! Hope my weigh in this week will be as exciting as yours. Keep up the good work. You can do it!!

I am so happy I could bust. DH was so happy. Now he might start firming with me because he can see what a wonderful thing it is for me :teeth:
 
Someone, please help me.

I started the Beach today and I am on phase one. Someone is supposed to lend me the book but has yet to give it to me. I had a veggie and cheese omelet for breakfast and I am still full from it. (I did eat some sliced turkey and cheese for lunch to keep my blood sugar levels up).

My question is this, what about salad dressings in this phase? Can I use them at all? If so are there limitations on which ones I can use. They low fat dressings seem to have a lot of carbs and sugar in them. Any suggestions for phase one?

I hope to become knowledgeable in South Beach and maybe I can help someone else out in the future.

You will probably find that the low fat dressings are high in sugar carbs to make up for the lost flavor. I have always used any dressing I wanted and just used the recommended serving amount on the bottle. On southbeachdiet.com, Dr Agatston recommends that you use those < 3 gms sugar per serving.

I knew you'd get the 30 lb clippie before your trip. What a great accomplishment!

Our trip is scheduled for end of October. I'm hoping to get my 30lb clippie on or before that. My goal is to lose a total of 40. Only 30 to go. I should be able to lose at least 20 more pounds by end of October.
 
leanne-Thanks. I am sooooo happy right now. It took me 4 months to lose 30 pounds, so there is no reason you won't make your goal before you leave.

It is great for us all to have such great support of each other. It makes me feel good to know that there are other's out the pushing me on. Thanks all
 
I don't know how to thank you for your support. I just lost 3 more lbs. Nearly 20 lbs in one month!! Woo Hoo! Thank you all for the encouragement and support. I am finding it easier and easier. Excercise certainly helps in phase 2 to keep the loss going at a higher rate. So does drinking tons of water. I will fit into my pre-baby skinny clothes very soon. My only problem has been some leg cramps, but that may be from excercise. Not sure. At this rate, I may get off all the weight I want to before WDW. Oh, I hope, I hope.

I am really liking the Almond Ricotta Creme dessert. But I do whip it to give it a better consistency.

I don't have time to read all the posts right now - I will eventually! I'm so happy I found this thread. As I was walking to work today, I decided to get the South Beach Diet cookbook and start it this weekend. To be brief, I'm 27 (turning 28 this month!). I'm married and my husband is 36. We're planning our first trip back to the World since we were married there 2 years ago and I don't want to go back with this extra weight on us! Also, we're going to start trying for Baby Number 1 and I want to be in the best possible shape and at the best possible weight so my pregnancy will be better. I also want DH and I to be in shape to keep up with a little one (or two) and have a blast when we take him/her/them to Disney World.

I'll be back later to read the entire thread. Thank you so much for being here to really solidify my idea of getting this thing started. I'll have tons of questions, I'm sure, but my first is this: how is the new cookbook? I saw it at the store. Is it worth it?

Melissa - I'm so happy for you! Losing 20 pounds in a month is just awesome! Woohoo!!! You will be at your goal in no time. I don't like the ricotta desserts myself but pretty much everyone else does. Maybe I should try different combinations to see if that does it for me. Anyway, just wanted to say how proud I am of you and to give you a little push to keep on keeping on, this way of eating certainly gets easier the longer you commit to it.

AllyandJack - we are so happy you found us! Welcome!!!! This is a great thread with a wonderful bunch of people who will be not only be happy to answer any questions you may have but to cheer you on as you journey to goal. I don't have the new cookbook. I get most of my recipes from the recipe room at www.lowcarbfriends.com or just modify recipes I already have at home to make them SBD friendly. Maybe someone who has the recipe book can comment. Again, welcome and post often for support.

I don't know how much more I'll be posting as I leave for Disney early on Sunday morning. My goal is to stay OP while I'm gone and I am so happy I found a thread on the planning forums that says starting in June certain Disney hotels will allow you to use their exercise facility for free and the Grand Floridian is one of them! Yippee!!!! I'll definitely be working out most mornings now. I'll check back later. Have a great afternoon all.
 
Melissa- the leg cramps could be due to exercise but it also could be due to low potassium and calcium. I started taking supplements and I don't have those problems anymore. Try it and see if it goes away. 20 pounds in a month is impressive. You must be feeling great!!!!!!!:thewave:

Allyand Jack- Welcome to the board. I've only been her a short time myself, but it is a great group of people and an excellent place to have your questions answered. I have the SBD cookbook, and LOVE it. Sometimes it's hard to be creative with your meals while on a diet, but the cookbook has some really good recipes. The cookbook also summarizes the diet so you don't really need the SBD book.

ZerasPride and Sheree- have a WONDERFUL trip to the World.
