Last year I went camping at Fort Wilderness for the first time. I heard some weird sounds. Hard to explain. They were not from an animal, more electricity like. Since I heard them every day, I suppose they're not weird, but I'm just dumb, haha. I was wondering if you can tell me what it was?

And then, considering Florida often has thunderstorms, do they take/ have they taken any precautions? It seems to me tent camping under a tree is a bit dangerous when there are thunderstorms.

You can hear the Richard Petty race cars at FW. Maybe that was what you heard?

The first time I ever camped at FW (1988), we went to bed early our first night. Suddenly we heard this "weird" music and had no idea what it was! It kinda scared us!

It took us til our next visit, a year later, to figure out that the music we heard was the Electrical Water Pageant! LOL! We had no idea there was such a thing!

It wasn't the Water Peagant. Might have been the race cars, but I think it was day and night. More like a 'zoem' sound.

As far as the Thunderstorms. If the Ft.W CMs feel the weather is too severe for tent camping they will relocate you to a cabin or other WDW resort.

This has happened to a friend of mine a couple of years ago.

If it was at night, then it was the fireworks coming from either Magic Kingdom, Epcot or MGM. It took us a couple of nights to figure that one out. lol

It was no fireworks. I'm not 100% sure if it was at night as well, but it was definitely during the entire day. The race cars seem more like it.
