Has anyone been to the new "Soul Fire Theater Experience?" Or possibly have a web site? It's a new dinner theater.

Thx,

Pat

Pat do you mind if I "ride" along on your thread as we are really interested too in hearing about this show. It sounds like it's a lot of fun.:D

Hi sammi,

You're welcome to ride along. Now if only we can find someone who's seen the show...

Thanks Pat!:D

Now surely someone out in DIS land has been to this show??????;)

I went to the school reunion show and frankly, it wasn't that good. The food (buffet) was excellent quality if limited in choice.

The new show (revolving around a wedding) opens on 17 Feb, I believe and is supposed to be really good. I'll let you know once I've seen it !

Soul Fire is located in Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores just 2 miles up from US 192 on SR 535. Great place to shop..loads of bargains ! And Alice Cooper was at Notable and Notorious today.

Well thanks so much for your help!:D We kind of thought no one knew what this place was all about.

Yes please let us know how you like the new show. It's just down the road from where we're staying at Cypress Pointe so it would be a nice evening out for us (if it's a good show);)

What kinds of food was on the buffet?

Thanks for your input!:)

The menu....not sure if I can remember but I'm sure there was chicken, beef, pasta and an absolutely wonderful mash potato that everyone talks about to this day. There were other options as well but I'm darned if I can remember. Just know it was good and far better than most of the other area dinner shows.

FLeisure the menu sounds quite nice and I've heard that the new show (I think it's to be Tony & Tina's wedding) is supposed to be hilarious!:) Yes please let us know what the new show is like.:D

Pat here's the web site for the show and there's lots of information there.;)

There were several types 4.00 off coupons in the mall were theis dinner show is located. I saw them at a shipping place on the counter..

Well, I made it to Tony 'n' Tina's Wedding on Tuesday night and I have to say that this show is so much better than the High School reunion show that was previously on.

There really is something for everyone but a word of warning. This is an interactive show and the cast do want you to participate. If your idea of a show is to turn up and sit like a couch potato then you might want to rethink ! Whilst it is possible to sit there and do nothing, if you don't take part even to the extent of talking to the characters then you really are missing the point of the show.

Upon arrival we were shown to our table and almost immediately salad, bread and drinks were placed before us. The minute you sit down, you are part of the wedding. The cast wander around, come to your table and the funs begins.

The start of the show is a little slow but once the wedding begins the pace quickens up and you need eyes and ears everywhere as there are little sideplays between characters that are extremely amusing.

Apparently the show was created 15 years ago in New York by an improvisational comedy group called Artificial Intelligence and is now a permanent fixture in many cities across America.

The idea is simple : Stage a wedding and a reception with all the caricatures inherent in a couple of large Italian-American families - the Vitale's and the Nunzio's. It all happens in a Yak lodge (Soul Fire) that has been done up for the wedding.

Whilst the show is excellent and very entertaining, unfortunately the buffet is not quite as good and was a disappointment to me although others in our party really enjoyed it. Basically, you get chicken, pasta, beans and carrots ! Of course, being a buffet, you can eat as much as you like but you can only eat so much chicken !

As far as kids are concerned, our 9 and 12 year old enjoyed the show and other kids as young as 4 were there who also seemed to have a great time. Word of warning; there is a lot of sexual inuendo but frankly, it's difficult to see how the show would work without !

In all a great show, certainly one of the best around that I've seen and if the buffet improves (and suggestions have been made to the management) then you'll have a fabulous night.

Published prices are $ 43.95 plus tax and tip for adults and $ 29.95 plus tax and tip for children.

The show is on Tuesday - Sunday and starts at 7.30pm with doors opening at 7.00pm.

SoulFire is at 15609 Apopka Vineland Rd (SR 535) , Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores.... about 2 miles up from US 192 on 535.

Thanks so much for your report FLeisure!:)

It sounds pretty good actually, and I've printed the "buy 1 get one 1/2 price coupons" that I found so the price will be a little cheaper. It sounds like it would be fun especially if you go with a larger crowd. There will be 7 of us.I know this show has been around Toronto and area for a few years and received good reviews too.

One of our party only eats strictly chicken so that would be ideal. What way is the chicken cooked? And what about those famous mashed potatoes you mentioned in your other thread? Do they still serve them too?I guess alcoholic beverages are extra? Do you know the costs?;) Do you also have to reserve weeks or days in advance and was it really crowded?

Thanks so much for all of your help and I hope we enjoy it as much as you all did!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Sammi,
The chicken is done in a lovely source and is boiled. No mash potatoes unfortunately but I'm not so sure this isn't going to come back. We went on a travel industry night so had to pay for our drinks but as far as I know alcholic drinks are included in the price.

I will check this out for you later as we are a couple of stores down from Soul Fire :) As far as reservations are concerned, it's like all shows. The earlier you book the better but reservations can still be had 48 hours in advance or even on the day concerned.

I'll get back to you later on once I've spoken to the people at SoulFire.

Great FLeisure!:) Thanks for all of your information! :sunny:

Hi again !
Just dug out our information as the guy I need isn't in the Soul Fire office at present.

The price includes unlimited soft drinks only. Alcohol is extra. In the sales literature they state :

"Romaine Garden Salad, Chevre Chicken, Paste in Wild Mushroom Cream Sauce and Death By Chocolate Cake.....and this is just a sample, there's always something different cookin' at SoulFire".

I'll try and get costs of alcohol for you later on. :D

Oops ! Sorry...forgot about the price of alcohol.....will have an answer for you tomorrow.

LOL! Don't worry FLeisure as I was only bumping this thread for another DIS'er to read all about Tony 'n Tinas wedding! If you read the other thread that I started it states that we went to theSoul Fire last week and had a great time!;)

Thanks for all of your help as this actually was one of the highlights of our 3 1/2 week trip! Thanks so much for all of your help..........PS: the drinks were $3.00 for wine or beer!lol;)

Glad you had a great time. Thanks for the price on alcohol....thought that's what it was :)
