sorry, yet another waitlist question....

I am new to DVC (this is my first post! ) and I am planning a quick get-away for the end of September (Sept 28-Oct 2nd). I tried to make reservations for a studio at Beach Club for 4 nights but they only had Sept 28th-30th available not Oct. 1st. I booked at SSR and was waitlisted for Beach Club.

Should I have reserved the first three nights at BCV and waitlisted for the 4th?

Or am I better off having the four nights confirmed at SSR?

Our close second choice for this trip was Wilderness Lodge but it was also all booked up for Oct. 1st. Would I have a better chance of getting the ressie if I waitlist here instead of Beach Club?

What is automatic confirmation that I've seen mentioned on the boards?

Welcome to the Disboards and to DVC! It's hard to make the decision whether to waitlist or not. I am very partial to BCV, so I would have booked BCV for three nights and waitlisted for the fourth night. The worst thing would be that you would have to change resorts for the last night. Not too bad for a couple, but if kids are included this can get alittle more difficult.

Can't help you with the auto confirmation, not sure how that works. You can always call MS and ask what you can do!

I would have gone for booking the days that were available at the BCV and took the confirmed 4th night at SSR. That way you only have to wait for 1 night as opposed to waiting for all 4 nights.

Autoconfirm means that as soon as your waitlist comes up they automatically book you the room. They don't call you and ask. You can ask that they automatically cancel your other reservation or (if you have enough points) they will leave the first one booked. This way you can wait to see what comes in and then decide. You can check on the website to see when your waitlists come in.

The waitlists do work. Make sure that you waitlist each day separately as they come in quicker that way. I went on the waitlist on Monday for 8 separate days during the last week of F&W (a combination of BCV and BWV) and all days have come in but one !
